La Maison des Buis

What can I say about this little slice of heaven. We were welcomed warmly on our arrival and shown to our room which was bright and airy. The bed and bedding were really comfortable. I lived the decor and particularly the pictures that hung in our room. After a peaceful night sleep we arrived for breakfast and what a delightful surprise this was, the strawberries were delicious as was everything else. The owners could not do enough for us. I would highly recommend and if you stay please take time to see the beautiful garden. My only regret was I did not take any photos! Parking was just literally around the corner.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice. Eric was welcoming and fully prepared for our arrival. We unloaded our car outside of the gated entrance and parked just around the corner in a very safe and secluded location. He showed us to our room and gave us the wifi code and the code for accessing the property gates and ten having checked we had all we needed left us to our own devises Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Very comfortable bed, lovely crisp sheets and duvet with a lovely bathroom (the shower could do with a ledge or shelf to put toiletries on but not a big deal) Lovely view across a quite street we were able to sleep with the windows open without being disturbed in any way, and we slept very well. Breakfast was a delight. Fresh strawberries, meats and cheese etc, everything you could possibly desire. in fact we ate so well we skipped lunch on the way down to our next stop. We would recommend this property to anyone and will definitely be returning

A lovely visit for 2 nights, hosted by Brigitte and Gilles. Very pleasant bedroom up a circular staircase. Gilles volunteered to take our case up as I find stairs a bit difficult. The bedroom was a good size with a nice separate bathroom. It overlooks a road but that didn’t pose a problem. The bed was large and comfortable. Brigitte phoned the only restaurant that was open in Falaise on the Sunday so that we could book a table. The second night we sat in their lovely garden and enjoyed a bottle of wine and some charcuterie we bought that morning. They were quite happy for us to do so and produced glasses, plates, cutlery. Breakfast was cereals and fruit juices, croissants, bread, cheese, a choice of 4 delicious homemade jams and some fresh, again homemade, petites madeleines. Lovely. When you arrive you can park on the pavement outside and once you have unloaded, you move your car 25 yards round the corner to a parking area. Do visit. We really enjoyed it.
