Holiday Inn Orlando North Winter Park by IHG

Not sure who has previously rated this "hotel" but this place is a dump. Seedy clientele, lousy breakfast - carbs, carbs, and more carbs. After check in we had to push a luggage cart up a ramp to the second floor to get to the elevator. Great design. When exiting the nasty elevator we were greeted by a housekeeper's cart blocking the hall. The housekeeper was on her phone and it appeared to be an inconvenience for her to let us by. After we made it to our filthy room my girlfriend went downstairs and asked if there was any coffee. The ever so helpful front desk person replied "Don't you have a coffee maker in your room?" Another somewhat more helpful employee overheard this conversation and told her that coffee was available in the lobby 24 hours. We always travel with our own coffee maker anyway for morning coffee, which is a good thing because I would not risk using the one in the room after seeing the condition of the place. There was funky lighting in the bathroom vanity fixture. There was a bright white bulb, for those who like bright light. A soft white bulb if you needed the light to be easier on the eyes, and then a burned out bulb if you are into no light at all. Choices. The shower curtain rod was almost falling off the wall, one of those curved things, which made it lean downward and therefore causing the shower curtain to mostly gather in the middle of the rod. There was mold. And I would not touch the phone after observing the multi-colored keypad stained with something gross. I would not go back to this so-called "Quality Inn" if they offered lifetime free rooms. It was a dump. At a hundred bucks a night.

This filthy and decrepit hotel needs a health inspection. Our first assigned room stank, and only one of three lamps worked: too dark at night to stay. So I was reassigned to another room, where only one lamp was broken. But there were no wastebaskets and just one towel for two persons. The ice machine was broken and disgusting (see photo). The elevator was filthy as were the halls. The microwave was gross: see picture. Holes in the shower wall. I would have left but too late at night and non-refundable. Should not be open to the public, especially in covid times.

I arrived at this hotel and waited in line for 30 minutes to check in because only one of the two employees at the front desk were checking people in. The hotel halls and room smell somewhat like mold or mildew. There are nowhere near enough electrical outlets and extension cords are stretched across part of room to make up for it. The tv’s are extra small and the furniture is horrible. I asked to switch rooms because of the tv and was told they don’t have time to clean the room. I’m over this place.

This was one of the worst stays ever, Room was not prepared for occupancy (missing wash cloths, ice bucket, broken clock) and had major repair needs (Shower rod about to fall off, broken night stand, door lock was sticking). Contacted front desk and got unacceptable responses. Worst of all was a terrible smell that turned out to be three dead mice under the night stand by the bed on a glue trap! Breakfast is poor, one luggage cart in entire building, elevator repair started without placing out of order signs on all floors, one ice machine for entire building! Supposedly clean towel had embedded hairs and stains. The adjoining room door was a single door so thin that we could hear everything the neighbor said on the phone, at all hours of the day or night. Toilet paper was sat on the counter since they did not bother to fix the holder. Cannot think of anything positive to say. Manager was not even present nor bothered to contact me during stay.

Hotel smelled really bad when I walked in. I thought maybe something was wrong.In the front lobby. I went up The elevator and the lights on the elevator didn't work. So I wasn't sure if it was going to operate like it should. When I got to the fourth floor it smelled like ****. I opened my room and it smelled like mold, stale cigarettes. I called the front desk to complain and they said they would let the assistant manager know. Then I took a shower and after my shower with no hot water, I discovered that I had a wad of hair on my toe, not two or three hairs, but like thirty. Ewww. Call the front desk again same response. The bed seemed clean and was comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. There was a small fridge in the room and a microwave. I did not use, did not check them. No water pressure at all. Carpet seem dirty, dilapidated walls were bubbling underneath the paint. Not sure how they can keep a franchised called quality when there was absolutely no quality about it. I didn't want to stay a second night, but I had to. Don't do it, stay away, beware, beware beware. Breakfast was terrible, cereal watered down milk and water down juice, stale donuts.

The check in was great, friendly people at the desk. Had trouble with the key. I left my glasses in the cab or airport and couldn't see the tiny arrow to slot it correctly. They were so good to me before during and after the many times we tried several keys. I stayed overnight and had to leave the next morning to meet my mother so I didn't speak of the key or the wet carpet and musty smell. Someone had left the window open and it rained in. They were gracious and gave me a nice room when I returned. It was also determined that the key card receptacle on the door had a low battery. I didn't see any roaches at all and it was basically clean for a Florida hotel that has seen tropical weather. The breakfast bar was sufficient and coffee and hot tea are available all day. I booked on ******* and got a great rate and when I had to leave for the airport three days early because of the hurricane I was able to have the balance returned to my card that day.
