Fingle Glen Lodges

Overall the lpdge was comfortable however not at luxury standard. The lodge itself was in need of substantial update, the microwave was unusable after the first night and was never replaced and the washing machine was unusable as the door handle was missing. The toaster frequently tripped the power and the hob on the cooker overheated considerably. The hot tub was good but the decking area was in disrepair and the outlook from the lodge could be improved with some landscaping. There was no WiFi in the lodge but it was available in the hotel, however it was down on the one occasion we needed to use it. We went to the restaurant twice, the first time we had breakfast which was very good and high quality. The second time we had an evening meal which was good but the availability on the menu was limited due to a wedding reception. The staff we had dealings with were helpful and friendly but the reception appeared to be deserted most of the time.

Stayed here for a weeks holiday the ladge was OK nothing luxury as stated though, not enough cutlery and crockery for family of four to eat at same time, lights kept flickering off, shower leaked, no WiFi code, hot tub wasn't checked all week as meant to be for pH levels and the lid was held together with tape, no privacy whilst in tub golfers right next to tub. We cleaned the lodge spotless and stripped all beds when left only for them to report back to luxury coastal that some one had urinated on the bed so could keep our 150 deposit this was a lie as we were all adults in the lodge and very continent, I took this up with luxury coastal as we had evidence that everything was left perfect the house keeper manager Sarah was so rude and bad mannered would never reccomend this place to anyone, luxury coastal was really good though after looking at our evidence we had the deposit back even they were suprised what they had done after looking at our evidence. There was no one there to greet you we were just sent key code to loose self in, says towels were supplied which ment one towel for whole week so had to do washing whilst there. Not an enjoyable stay would definitely not go back.

Some of my family stayed in the lodges , they were expensive and I thought a total rip off . The lodges were in a pretty bad state , wobbling balustrades around the decking , rotting pieces of decking and wooden step , the insides were full of cobwebs and one lodge had dirty towels left on the floors . One of the lodges had torn fronts on the kitchen cupboards, the places were in desperate need of some TLC . What we also found alarming was seeing a person with an air rifle shooting the rats around the chicken coop!!! The family put up with all this as we were attending a family wedding and did not want anything to spoil the weekend by complaining , no complaints on the wonderful service that was given to guests and wedding party in the main Fingel Glen hotel , they could not have done a better job , excellent friendly staff .
