Encantada Ocean Cottages

Loved the whole vibe and all employees. We had issues w a big roach in our loft and a bat moving around above son’s bed and dropping dust or maybe guano on his pillow.

Beautiful location and relaxing experience, with some exceptions (Dogs barking next door) Liked · Overall, we enjoyed the experience of being in an uncrowded and beautiful beach area. The staff is amazing, especially Diana and all the wait staff. We stayed in Cabina #4 and we loved our space. We enjoyed the well cooked meals and the morning coffee at the beautiful open air restaurant. We felt it was a good value compared to the adjacent hotel restaurant (La Alma) We enjoyed the warm, sparkling swimming pool and the immaculate maintenance of the gardens and the grounds. Our room was perfect for two people...bedding was comfortable and luxurious. The room would have been too small for more than one couple and possibly a child in the loft above. The loft was accessed by steep spiral staircase and we never went there. A/C worked well and kept us comfortable day and night. Yoga classes for $15 were offered daily, and the leader was wonderful and accommodating of all levels. Very spiritual and relaxing. Disliked · This cabin is adjacent to the restaurant and office. It was noisy with conversations from staff sometimes, especially early mornings and late at closing time. The adjacent property to the north had 2 dogs which would howl and bark. Several guests commented to us that they were in rooms adjacent to the property and they were very disturbed. We could hear the dogs every day, but were further away. Those dogs really are a negative issue with this hotel. Be sure you get a room as far from the residence as possible. Owners would take the dogs for walks on the beach, and the dogs would bark until they got to go for their walks, and often during the day, not at night.

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy. The rooms were large, comfortable and very well stocked with a fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle and fresh coffee. The staff is excellent, helpful and friendly. A lovely pool with comfortable chairs around it. The restaurant provided a delicious included breakfast and great lunch and dinner options. Encantada is not in a town so if you like to be able to walk around a town easily, this is not the place for you. The other limit is that the beach gets pretty rough waves, so isn’t great for swimming, but is fine for wading. And if you’re a surfer, it’s awesome!

This place is such an incredible respite from the hustle and bustle of life in the big city. We’ve just returned from spending a week. Everything was so clean and well maintained, with careful updates that made for beautiful photos while not losing charm by modernizing too much. The pic it appears I did forget to take was of the rooms. Rooms were cool. Decent size with a comfortable bed and nice bath products. We had a good mix of onsite yoga, massages, and pool time blended with concierge scheduled off-site trips like going to ride ATVs through the countryside and a boat tour of the mangroves. So much fun! The key to this place though is the staff. All week, the chef made delicious food. The bartender’s drinks were all refreshing and balanced. And the other staff were so just so smiley and friendly, remembering our names all week and checking up on us without being intrusive. Bottom line- this place is amazing. The pictures really do do it justice. We were impressed enough to definitely come again. Which I, for one, never really do. There’s a big whole world out there to see. Put this place on your list.

Paradise Found The BEST place I ever stayed (and I’ve traveled a lot). Close to Quepos/Jaco and not far from Manuel Antonio. The food was great, the customer service was excellent, the cottages super cute and beds very comfortable. The pool right outside our cottage and the ocean always in view with outdoor beds and hammocks = dream spot! Yoga was awesome. I will recommend Encantada to all. It is an oasis and was exactly the vibe we were looking for!

Amazing Energy This space is absolutely wonderful. We had an amazing time at this beachfront resort. We stayed in a poolside cabin. The bed was the most comfortable of my 4 different locations this trip. It was well appointed with extra pillows, speakers, lamps, outdoor sink and a close line. The AC worked great and was much needed. We enjoyed the salt water pool, the drop in yoga sessions lasting 1.5 hrs and all of the ocean front seating/lounging options. Their chef is amazing! All of the food was top notch, no matter what time of day. Even if you are not a guest here, I would take the time to eat at this restaurant. They have live music on Thursdays from 4-6 with a discounted happy hour. Some local artists set up the wares to shop as well. Communication was excellent both pre-stay and during. They were extremely helpful with directing and assisting us to local tours and setting up our own private driver, Andrea. The black sand beach is beautiful, not crowed and stretches forever. Sunset is a must. During the day that sand is blistering hot, wear flops or run for the water line. Tiffany works really hard to ensure her guests are comfortable, have their needs met, all while directing the beehive of cleanliness and service. Everyone's energy here is very special. They feel like a lovely family and not just staff working a job, EVERYONE! I would recommend this space to anyone, especially those not interested in the hubbub of Jaco.
