Mtunzini Forest Lodge Self Catering Resort

The place itself is amazing! Beautiful and nicely “secluded” its near the beach which was a big plus since we went fishing. The chalet is smaller than expected but was great for 5 adults only down side is 1 bathroom. The value for money is totally worth it as well - you must understand though that this is a rustic chalet which means wooden walls, decks etc. - The chalet: Spacious enough for the 5 people we had. 1 room had an air-con and the other room had a fan which were all put to good use. There is an “upstairs” with 2 additional beds - which requires climbing on a ladder but it has railings so no one will fall off. Fan also provided there. Kitchen was well stocked with various utensils and appliances which worked wonderfully. The bathrooms are okay, not unpleasant but are in need of a bit of an update. Blankets and towels were provided. The only “downside” is parking at your chalet, there are spaces to park but they’re not covered. There is housekeeping that comes in daily to make beds and clear up which was a pleasant surprise. She was very nice and all our belongings stayed there. The place itself: As mentioned it is within walking distance to the beach - they have their own beach entry on the property. Pool is wonderful for swimming and tanning and has its own toilets which were well looked after! There are trails to run/walk but arent really well marked so I suggest bringing water and phone with you to map your way back, some are as long as 6kms. I (a young female) went with someone but feel it may be safe enough to run alone (always take someone with you first though) The people are friendly and always at the ready to help. They do apparently have a place where you can do laundry as well as a game room and restaurant - which stays on while there is loadshedding! Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone wanting a nice little holiday.
