Quality Inn Escondido Downtown

Service and breakfast- The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good- waffle, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee. The breakfast has to be picked up in the lobby and taken to your room to eat. This is not a good option for anyone traveling with a family. The room does not have a table, just a desk with one chair. So everyone else has to either eat standing or sit on the floor. Room- The room had comfortable beds and looked clean, but my socks told a very different story after walking on the tile ground for 20 minutes. (The bottoms of my socks were black). Bathroom- the toilet did not flush all the way unless you held the handle down until it was done. The shower had a several worn out spots on the bottom. The handle to turn on the shower had reverse controls. The handle had to be pointing to cold to get the hot water. Parking- It was hard to get into as you could only access the lot from one spot that was close to a traffic light. Once inside the parking lot there was plenty of places to park. Unexpected fees- In addition to the deposit they tell you about, they also require a $2 per night, per person cleaning fee. For children the night cleaning fee goes up to $10.

The room was not clean for sure.But the service and the parking was good.

Staff very un friendly, parking lot feels unsafe. They charge extra for children. Not family friendly. There is a Lowes across the street, and the day workers line up by the hotel and are noisy in the morning. Ice machine could use a good cleaning.

Difficult to get into Hotel, but "deluxe" room was a good size, comfortable bed, good Wi-Fi, hot water under good pressure and good towels. But floors filthy, despite a $2 gratuity/cleaning fee added to bill upfront. Breakfast is served by a lovely woman but you are directed to eat it in your room, thereby ensuring your breakfast will be cold. Look carefully at the reviews. Three of the 6 top reviews are from the same person and all are from one time contributors. None are recent.

SIGNS EVERYWHERE, sign says u must wear a mask but nobody is. A $ 2 charge for gratuity to cleaning staff added to bill?? It’s a charge not a gratuity ! Breakfast has to be eaten in room because of Covid??????? :2024??? Floors are gross! Room ok but I felt uncomfortable with all the rules posted!!!!

Do not stay here!!! Floors in the room were filthy, my feet were caked with dirt just from walking around barefoot for a few minutes. We had requested to stay for another day which the manager agreed to then he abruptly rescinded the offer in a matter of minutes which altered our whole vacation plans (for the better actually but still) even threatining police (!?!?!?!) as we promptly left. We were being quiet and nondisruptive so completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Still got charged an additional deposit fee of 100$ despite leaving with no damage to the room. Looks like we weren't the only visitors with bad experiences.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!! This place is a joke. Super disgusting, run down and infested with roaches. My husband got sick and threw up on a towel and they had the audacity to charge us for it when the room was in deplorable conditions and full of roaches. I complained to AAA since I booked through their website and look what the hotel replied. The manager Ralph Felsinger is useless and a crook. Roaches are not common around town and are not due to the winter!!! Read the reviews they're there year round. I submitted a complaint to BBB and I just wish I had read the damn reviews before staying here. We did not even eat the breakfast because if the rooms have roaches I can't imagine the food is clean. ZERO stars

I was charged 40usd after I checked out because they say they did not find a towel. I did not take any towel from the hotel but when I called to understand the reason of this chatged they just refused to give my money back in a very rude way. Considering this amount plus the addtional 30usd they charged me at check in for a child fee that I was not aware and was not stated when I made the reservarion, I would have been able to stay in a much better hotel.

The Quality Inn is an amazing place to stay. The room has HDTV with a lot of channels to choose from and also has a microwave and fridge. The WiFi is Free and extremely fast. The hot breakfast in the morning is very delicious, they also have grab and go bags. The front desk receptionists are very friendly and have great customer service. The Manager is very kind and friendly. The maids are very friendly and do a great job. I will recommend the Quality Inn to all my family and friends.
