Elounda Heights (Adults Only)

We looked for hours to find the perfect accommodation to stay in when visiting the north/ east side of Crete. Elounda Heights is a fabulous choice! Visually stunning, with villas/ studios that all have a sea view, the hotel is gorgeous with gardens and places to relax tucked away every where you turn! From our first email interaction with Ritzsa, to our last morning at breakfast, this adults only hotel was truly special! Every staff member we met was warm, gracious, kind and ready to help. The views were stunning…every mornings sunrise was a gift..being high up as the hotel is situated, one could just stand in a different garden and be mesmerized. The breakfasts were served every morning by the pool, and the choices were lovely and generous. If you decide to eat dinner at their outdoor restaurant, you will love the view and the delicious meals prepared by their chef and served by a hardworking staff. Our studio was perfect, very comfortable bed and pillows with an outside balcony for relaxing. Also a clothesline to hang your clothes…brilliant! Plenty of hot water, and spotlessly clean and cleaned by a sweet cleaning crew. The entire Hotel staff just felt like a wonderful family…and we were treated like royalty! If we should be blessed to return to Crete in the future, we will ALWAYS chose Elounda Heights Hotel! Many thanks to everyone who made our staff so special!

Our annual visit to Elounda Heights was later this year, we normally visit in May. Thankfully everything was perfect as usual. Our studio was immaculate as ever. The breakfasts, all home made were delicious. We ate at Elounda Heights most evenings and as with all of our previous visits the food was exceptional. This is a wonderful hotel, fantastic views over the bay of Elounda with Spinalonga Island in the distance. On this visit we stayed in a studio apartment. We had our own patio area with seating and sun beds to relax on and look at the beautiful views. The air conditioned studio was traditionally furnished and our bed very comfortable. The staff at Elounda Heights are brilliant, always smiling and helpful. We particularly loved the evening meal specials served in the outdoor covered restaurant, all evening meals were expertly prepared by Vangelis and his team, worth a Michelin star in our opinion. For the perfect wine accompaniment Kostas was on hand to advertise from the excellent wine list. The pool area has its own pool bar, meals and drinks prepared by Clio who is brilliant. There are enough sun beds around the pool for all guests, no need to get to the pool early to reserve your spot. There is so much to see and do around the Elounda area, lovely villages, sandy beeches and drives into the mountains. We loved it so much we have booked for 2025.

A very special place, after going here for over twenty years, we are still in awe of the view every time. Yes, it's at the top of a rather steep hill but that's how you get the view that not many other hotels in the area can match. The owners and staff all go out of their way to give you the best experience you can have catering for dietary needs and information to assist you with regards travel in the local area and further afield.

We arrived at Elounda Heights after a long drive across Crete and were immediately welcomed to Elounda Heights! We had first visited Rethymno and then Paleochora. We loved everything about this place! The location up on a hill and the view is just beautiful and you can easily walk into Elounda! (We took a taxi back up the hill after dinner each night for 5 Euros) We arrived on a Thursday and joined the excellent wine tasting dinner. We were unfortunately there only 3 nights so we ate in town the other nights. The staff is amazing especially Cleo who helped me at the pool bar with anything I needed! Our room was so spacious, clean and just amazing! The view was spectacular! We truly wish we could have stayed longer. We are hoping to visit again, but the trip from the US is long!

We arrived at the Heights in early July for a 14 night stay, staying in our favourite studio Apollo. We have stayed here many times before since our first visit in 2009. This year we had spent the previous week in the Chania area, so after checking in, having a snack and a cold drink, we took advantage of the facilities and washed a week’s worth of our clothes. Over the years we have seen many changes and improvements. This year one of them was the installation of a chilled and filtered water dispenser located next to the pool bar. So, no more plastic bottles of water at the pool or in your fridge in your room. Around the pool you can either fill your own refillable bottle or ask for a reusable plastic drinking glass. In your room you now have a glass bottle which you can refill or exchange at the pool bar. As we had prebooked breakfast, the day starts with having to make decisions. When you arrive at the pool bar for breakfast you will see the specials board. The first decision to consider is shall we eat in or out tonight? Then, if it’s in, will it be the special or the à la carte? No rush with these answers as you have until about 4 p.m. to order a special. Breakfast starts with a selection of small freshly made savouries and cakes. Together with these is a basket of various breads and a selection of home made jams. Your next decision is what to order from the main breakfast menu. A huge choice to eat and drink all cooked to order. On our pool days there was another change this year. The heavy wooden framed pool beds have been changed for lightweight ones making them easier to move, all equipped with a comfortable mattress and, as previously mentioned, free chilled water. If you skipped breakfast there is an excellent snack menu at the pool bar with plenty of choice and cooked to order. The end of the afternoon has a happy hour (actually 2 hours) where the price of popular cocktails is reduced. If we have chosen to eat in for the evening meal we usually go to the bar to chat to the other guests first and, when you are ready, you cross the driveway to the restaurant. Our studio was on the ground floor and has a terrace where you can sit or use the sunbeds. The room is quite large with a very comfortable bed, sitting area, TV and small kitchen area that has a fridge, kettle and toaster etc. The bathroom is well equipped with shower gel and other bathroom products. The studio also has a large electronic safe, air conditioning, a hairdryer and an iron. The studio was kept spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was good across the whole site. The evening specials are cooked by Vangelis who does fantastic food. If you have any special dietary requirements just let him know and Vangelis will cater for you. Once a week they have a pianist playing in the dining area and, on another evening, there is wine-tasting where every wine is paired with dishes of food.
