Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Ellsworth / Bar Harbor

My family of 6 stayed at this hotel for our trip to Acadia National Park. We got the 2 queen bed suite. This was a great place to come to each night. Comfy, did the trick. The breakfast was extensive and my kids were so excited that there was a waffle maker! The staff is so friendly and the absolute friendliest out of all the staff at the other hotels we were at. I can only imagine there’s a great work culture at this hotel, props to management! We did not actually see the playground shown in some photos. I looked out our window but couldn’t find it, but also forgot to ask about it, but it’s ok we came home tired every day anyway from our hikes in the park! Also, the room we were given looked closer to the older photos of this hotel. Not all rooms have been updated apparently. It’s ok, the older rooms have a homey appeal to them I guess. The hotel is in a great location with lots of delicious food and a supermarket nearby.

The motel was good, very quiet. Room was clean and had been recently updated. They do not clean your room daily unless you ask. They will also give you fresh towels if you ask. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This property is popular for lodging when visiting Acadia National Park. Everything was fine save for a few minor things. When I moved the floor lamp a bit, it became obvious that no one had done that for a while; there was quite a bit of dirt underneath its base. As with too many lodges, we had use of one hook and no towel racks in the bathroom. Why hoteliers don't provide more, including one for the hand towel which takes up too much space on the counter, I don't know. If this is the worst things I can say about our stay, then this should tell the reader something.

Quiet, peaceful, just far enough away from the road yet close enough to almost anything you'd want or need during a stay. A traveler's dream! Fast check-in/check-out, coffee and tea available in the lobby, clean room, and a well maintained facility overall. Definitely will return
