Our encounter with New Farmers Paradise was short. We were greeted nicely by a lovely host and sat down on the table for tea. It was a place with a great view of the valley but far from town. Soon we realised the place had doublebooked us and they tried to relocate us for the first night in another guesthouse nearby - In a room with an awful smell of cleaning chemicals that we would never gonna sleep in. Pointing out this issue, they acknowledged the smell, but just shrugged their shoulders like it was nothing. We were the only guests at the place and were feeling lost and certainly not welcome. That was not what we signed up for, so we booked another place in Ella and left. At that point the host tried to convince us to stay - he knew other nearby places where we could spend the night. Never were we offered a discount of any sorts or anything. Their son even tried to make us pay for the tuktuk-ride we had to take with him to get to our new place. I realise mistakes happens but this was dealt with badly.
