Sierra Nevada

Sierra Nevada is a lovely hotel in El Calafate. The rooms are decent with nice comfortable beds and plenty of space. The staff is courteous and helpful as well. We loved the restaurant in the hotel, so we ate there a lot. But I think we should have stayed closer to the City Center in retrospect. If you are looking for something in the vicinity of the hotel, then you are not going to find much. Maybe due to our timing (around Christmas), taxis were hard to find.

Este Hotel provee todo lo necesario para facilitar tu estadía en El Calafate. Es un hotel limpio y con buenas facilidades. Desde el "Front Desk" nos planificaron los traslados al aeropuerto, excursiones al Parque Nacional de los Glaciares Perito Moreno y El Chaltén. Luego de largos días de excursiones, el hotel provee un lugar de descanso y tranquilidad. Todo el personal fue muy amable durante nuestra estadía y en especial gracias a Sofía por planificar todas nuestras actividades y traslados.

The hotel is modeled like typical mountain town chalets and comes with a charming ambiance and comfortable accommodations. The well-maintained gardens and panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes provided a serene environment for relaxation LOCATION:Situated on the edge of El Calafate, Hotel Sierra Nevada offers a peaceful retreat but at a bit of a distance from the town center. it's a short drive to natural attractions like the Perito Moreno Glacier. The surrounding area is picturesque, with views of the lake and mountains enhancing the appeal. DINE + DRINK: The hotel's restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring local and international cuisine. But i didnt have an opportunity to sample the food, so cannot comment. ROOM: We stayed in Room 109, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: View of the landscape from the sweet balcony attached to the room ; AIR-CON:No Air conditioner, but the room got cool enough in the night;; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM:Good sized bathroom with a BATH TUB shower; TOILETRIES: Very basic toiletries, bring your own FACILITIES: Very random room fitted with some dated weights that was labelled as a “Gym”! Nothing more and no pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs but could certainly do a better job in being more warm and greet guests with broader smiles! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment - primarily in Spanish!

Hotel tipo rustico muy acogedor. Ubicado en avenida Libertador es la principal de Calafate, a cinco minutos de lo que se considera el centro de Calafate. Hotel limpio y de un estilo rustico que lo hace ideal para la zona. La habitación espaciosa, aseo con bañera, todo muy limpio. El personal muy amable. El desayuno buffet con lo necesario, sin alardes pero suficiente. El restaurante tiene buenos precios y por estar alojado tiene descuento. Un alojamiento con encanto.

The hotel is average, but the noise is beyond reasonable! We did not sleep all night and typically we hike all day and sleep soundly. The noise from nearby roads lasted until 3am with motorcycle (two stroke) high pitch sound that was hard to believe! When we asked to be moved from next door to two screaming kids all night the manager and owner said impolitely no options! Also, several dogs bark at each other very close by at each vehicle going by and at each other all day and especially at night! We would not stay here again and advise good people to try other locations!

Cheap and cheerful hotel with polite and helpful staff. Good value and location. There are quite a few steps to the rooms. Breakfast was OK. Second floor room has a nice view. Square windows cause some wind noise. Easy to walk to local amenities.
