100 Princes Street

Eigentlich bin ich eher zufällig auf dieses Hotel gestoßen, als ich für August ein passendes Haus in Edinburgh gesucht habe – möglichst mit Einzelzimmer, in guter Lage und zu einem vernünftigen Preis, was zur Festivalzeit ja nicht selbstverständlich ist. Meine Erwartungen wurden allerdings bei weitem übertroffen. Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Princes Street – von außen eher unscheinbar, doch sobald man eintritt, entfaltet sich ein ganz besonderes Flair. Schon der Empfang war außergewöhnlich herzlich: vom Doorman über den Concierge bis hin zum Check-in, der nicht an einer klassischen Rezeption, sondern ganz entspannt im Bar-/Restaurantbereich bei einem Glas Champagner stattfand. Persönlich, professionell und einfach stilvoll – ein toller Start in den Aufenthalt. Mein Einzelzimmer war zwar nicht riesig, aber absolut ausreichend und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Keine sterile Standardausstattung, sondern ein geschmackvolles, typisch schottisches Ambiente mit allem, was man sich in dieser Kategorie wünschen kann. Ich habe mich vom ersten Moment an rundum wohlgefühlt. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Bar: Die Barkeeper verstehen ihr Handwerk, die Beratung bei Whiskys war hervorragend, und die angebotenen Speisen waren geschmacklich auf höchstem Niveau. Man merkt einfach, dass Qualität und Service hier großgeschrieben werden. Das eigentliche Highlight war jedoch das Personal. Selten habe ich so viel Freundlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und Professionalität erlebt – man fühlt sich hier nicht als Gast, sondern fast schon wie ein Freund des Hauses. Fazit: Dieses Hotel ist eine absolute Empfehlung – sei es für ein Wochenende während des Festivals oder einen längeren Aufenthalt in Edinburgh. Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

This was one of my favorite hotel stays to date! My room was small, but was gorgeous and had everything I needed. The service was very personal and above and beyond. The breakfast was wonderful, and property is absolutely beautiful. I will return to this hotel the next time I am in Edinburgh, and will also seek out other Red Carnation Hotel properties.

There are not enough adjectives to describe our stay at 100 Princes Street!!! From the moment we checked in until the time we left, we were given the utmost care and attention! The room with the castle view was fabulous and breakfast each morning was a treat!

We stayed here for four nights. It is like a home away from home for us. Great place to rest after long days of sightseeing around Edinburg. The room is very clean; super comfortable bed, and a well-thought function bathroom with full amenities. The restaurant provides great taste foods, although menu is quite limited but the quality of ingredients are superb. For breakfast, fruits, veg, butter and jam are extremely fresh. We enjoyed them so much every morning. The hotel bar also provides a good range of drinks. What I love is the local limited selection you dont find elsewhere. Services are also exceed our expectation. Whether it is the greetings from Check-in, room services, laundry service, guest experiences and departure; the staffs are all very attentive and helpful. Definitely will come back to stay here again!

My husband and I were lucky enough to get to spend 2 evenings at 100 Princes Street and we are so glad that we did! From the moment we walked up to the doors, the entire team of staff ensured we were treated and escorted through every step. Diarmaid, the Assistant Resident Manager, made our very short stay so memorable that we can’t wait to come back and stay longer! Service is at the heart of what they do here and it definitely left a lasting impression on us.

I cannot recommend the 100 Princes enough. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and every detail is pristine. But what really sets the hotel apart is the service. The staff is lovely and friendly, and goes above and beyond in every possible way. We felt like royalty. A truly special experience.
