Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa All Inclusive

This hotel reminded me of a Spanish resort hotel from the 90’s. Don’t be fooled by the glossy website and slick video shots, the hotel is quite worn out and the service standards aren’t anywhere near the level that the hotel clearly thinks they are. Rooms I know the rooms are due to be refurbished but until they are they just aren’t worth the money. It started with a front door that grounded out on the floor meaning it couldn’t be fully opened and we had to squeeze a pushchair through, scraping along the wall/door with the wheels. The bathroom door couldn’t be closed as it would stick within the frame. Brute force just wedged it closed but they all your effort was required to open it, and paint from the frame came with it. The bathroom itself was very dated. We weren’t provided with a do not disturb sign so every nap time for our baby was disturbed by repeated knocking from room service. Concierge We couldn’t decide whether to opt for concierge or not. We wish we hadn’t, it just isn’t value for money. We didn’t get any of the orientations promised and no explanation of how kids club etc worked. The restaurants were pre booked on arrival (the only reason we opted for it really) but when we asked to change from buffet to à la carte we were told we couldn’t (early dining due to children). It was as if you were only allowed X number of à la carte? Out of 9 nights we had 4 ‘restaurants’. One of the main reasons we chose here was the à la carte feature, as we hate buffet. There was supposed to be a pirate night for concierge guests. It didn’t happen. We were supposed to get a phone to allow contact with the concierge, we didn’t get one. We were asked to choose a bottle of spirits for the room. We didn’t get one until we chased it up 4 days later. It was only a half bottle (37.5cl). The à la carte restaurants aren’t open all the time and aren’t open at lunch, so lunch time dining options are limited and quite poor (how many times can you have burgers in a week). It does not have the freedom of dining options that the website would have you believe. The concierge option was a complete waste of money and added little of value to our stay. Pool The main pools are spacious but are not child friendly. There are a distinct lack of parasols and the ones that are available are taken by the 6AM reserve it with a towel/hat crew. This means that you are left with no option for shade and your kids just have to suffer it in the scorching sun or go elsewhere and avoid the pool. I was told that reserving sun beds was not allowed and to inform pool staff - a) it’s pretty obvious when the same people reserved the same beds every day b) it just creates a confrontation when they eventually return and your on ‘their’ bed, that they actually came to use at 11.30am. The areas around the pool are tired. The pool tables in the bar are broken and don’t always release the balls. The cues are also fit for the bin. Another reason that we chose this hote

From the moment we arrived we were met with such hospitality, delicious rum punch, and a cold towel to cool off. Check in was a breeze and everything was beautiful. The food was delicious from beginning to end and the liquor was top notch. Shout out to Mia Chin for taking care of all of our dinner reservations and excursions. She is truly a gem. Dillion at the bar made sure that my drinks were made right, and Rose in housekeeping made sure that we I returned to my room everything was clean. I will definitely be back, already planning for next year.

Wonderful hotel! Food and service were excellent. Only thing I didn’t care for was, no beach. The sargassum is awful and it’s not the hotels fault. Large pools.

We had the absolute best vacation ever here! The staff was so amazing and they took care of us for our entire stay. I want to personally thank Maxwell, Bradley, Zatima, Zara, Marz, Eran & Merkii. I will never forget the kindness & professionalism shown to me & my husband.

Let me start off by saying that I am not one to write reviews.I read every recent review in the weeks leading up to our trip even the ones posted the day before our trip. We got back yesterday so this is a really recent review. With that said, my family and I had a great time at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa. Yes, the seaweed is a problem. However, we knew that going in. It is everywhere in the Atlantic and NOT the resorts fault. They do a great job of removing it so I will not consider that in my review. For starters, Shirlanda and everyone at the concierge were excellent. It pleasantly surprised me that even when we checked out yesterday, they asked about our son by name and had only met him the first day on check-in. Attie and Maxwell at the Adventure Desk were awesome as well. As for the excursions, we did not get to do any thru the resort. Everyone we booked, did not have enough people so the resort could not allow us to book them thru them. Therefore, we had to hire a taxi, and pay for it and the excursions ourselves. With that said, it worked out better in the end. Even with hiring a taxi for a half day and a full day, we saved a little bit of money compared to what we would have paid thru the resort. In addition, we got a more personalized, private tour. We saw and did more than we would have done if we went with the hotel excursions. Everyone at the resort was super friendly and said hello in passing which was nice. We did not encounter anyone that was rude or seem like they did not want to be there. With that being said, one night, once I turned on the TV, the remote went out so I could not turn it off by using it or by pressing the power button on the TV as it did not have one. It was stuck on a channel that did not have sound which ended up being nice. I went to guest services and requested a new one. They said they would send someone up. However, they did not show up until the next day. We covered it with our towels and robes to try to sleep. The water park is so much fun. The lazy river is so relaxing (although it could be sped up a little as we kept getting stuck under the waterfalls and had to paddle our way out LOL). The water slides do not look fast but they really are fast. I was pleasantly surprised. My son and I had so much fun! The room was nice. Nothing fancy but we did not spend much time there except to change and sleep so it did not matter. The a/c blew out really cold air the entire time. It was nice to come into a cold room after being out in the sun all day. The bathroom is a little small but we did not mind it. The only issue we had with the bathroom is that the shower was see through glass. It was awkward to have to go to the bathroom while someone was showering. The refrigerator was not very cold so the drinks inside were not that cold. They do have an ice machine in the room. However, it makes ice all the time (even in the middle of the night). Our family of 12 aged 80 to 13 stayed at Coconut Bay in August 2025. It was a great resort for all ages. Some of our family stayed on the adults only side while others on the Splash Family side. Dahlia at the concierge checkin was friendly and welcoming and answered any questions we had throughout our stay. As others have stated, the resort is a bit dated, but well maintained and very clean. The room was plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenage girls. The sargassum on the beach and ocean is still washing up. The resort is working tirelessly to clear the beach which seems like a very daunting task. One bright spot of the beach was the beach bar. Most days we would venture to see Tyron and he would make us an awesome drink. He always had a smile and made us feel welcome. He also introduced us to Soca music which will be in our regular rotation. To make up for the lack of beach, the entertainment and service were top notch. We spent most of our time at the pools participating in various activities organized by the fun entertainment staff. My husband lived his best resort life getting to know everyone. Special shout out to our entertainment friends Ritchie, Keisun, and CJ. They kept us entertained and laughing. (CJ we hope you get promoted from trainee soon!) We also played pickle ball most mornings, water aerobics, and some participated in the trail hike. Lastly, the food and drinks. There were a ton of options with all of the restaurants and they were very good. The 2 buffet nights were just ok. We arrived around 7:00 and they were out of some things. We ran into Jean Claude and he was so friendly and genuinely cared about our feedback about the food and beverage. We also did a private dinner to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. Thank you Gina for the fantastic service. You made it special for us. Lastly, thanks to Edd (Ed Double D) for all of Piton beer and mangos and Edward for the drinks in the lobby and upstairs bar. It was great getting to know you all.
