I contemplated writing this review, since the inn and the owners were great, and I generally write great reviews, because I feel establishments deserve recognition, but in this instance, I was disappointed that based on our experience that the owners did not feel it necessary to reimburse us something for our inconvenience. We booked two nights, end of February, in the Clydesdale Suite. The room was beautiful, but our first night, we encountered a mouse crawling out of our garbage can. It then proceeded to crawl under the fireplace. My husband found the owner, who placed two mouse traps in our room. At midnight, the one trap went off under the fireplace. After several minutes, there was silence. At 1:08 am, the mouse in the trap began to move again, causing a disturbance. At 1:20 am, the other trap went off. I assumed the first mouse got out of the trap and made its way across the room and landed in the second trap. Needless to say, I was exhausted the next day. In the morning, both traps contained mice, which we placed outside our door. At breakfast, I asked the owner to reset the traps, but that did not happen. Therefore, the second night was just as disturbing, because I was unsure if more mice would appear in the room. My husband and I take a few long weekends a year to get away from work and unwind. This was not a relaxing getaway, and for the price we paid to stay at the Inn At Whitewing Farm, I was extremely disappointed that due to us beingunderstanding, the owners did not feel the need to reimburse us for any of our stay. As much as I wanted to love this place, my husband and I will not be returning.
