The Maidstone Hotel

While the common area is cozy and quaint, the room we stayed in was nothing special and definitely not supportive of the price paid

Bad one night stay $1700 per night suite! We paid $1700 for a luxury suite for only 1 night stay! We had 3 problems that at a price like this is not acceptable . We had a room with 2 floors and the shower was leaking and dripped like crazy and left a huge mess on the floor below all over the floor. The TV remote would not work so the front desk charged the remote and brought the remote back and when my kids went to bed the remote died again . They had no TV at night and in the morning . There was no TV in the one bedroom also which was bad. The one TV didn’t even have basic cable unless u punch in a log in and password which we is not have access to. Lastly in the middle of the night at 1AM in the room we had our smoke alarm go off and it said “FIRE , FIRE” and I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs in a panic to check on my young children in my sleep and almost fell down the stairs and hurt my ankle. It must have been a faulty battery or something because there was no issue . It took an all of us a few hours to get back to bed . Not good! The next day we all were exhausted. Not acceptable for $1700 per night hotel roll. Won’t be coming back for sure

Quick Hamptons Trip Hotel was very nice though limited restaurant/bar hours. Room was fabulous. I called the day prior to request early check in and was told I should be fine. Upon arriving the staff informed us the central booking phone number provided with our reservation doesn’t know what they are saying and that they aren’t in the actual hotel. It was a frustrating start but ultimately the staff was helpful and the room + location was great!

Nice but loud Our only complaint is that our room was very loud as we were directly above the bar and there were very loud patrons until well past midnight. Otherwise the hotel is very pleasant.

Summer pop up restaurants come and go every Summer in the Hamptons. I was tempted to think this was another as "Scarpetta" made the trek out East to establish "LDV" in the iconic location of the Maidstone Inn. I expected it to be noisy, serving average food and full of staff, there for just a Summer and not focused on customers. Wrong ! Upon entry, one is greeted by Chloe at from desk who charming and welcoming. The ceiling is low over the bar but the pre-dinner drinks were were swiftly prepared and excellent. Our Server (Katey), while a Summer student was very knowledgeable and explained the menu. The food is excellent - The Yellowtail Crudi is light and delicious as were the oysters. Spanish octopus was a delicious appetizer too. Pastas as an intermediate course were all beautifully prepared. Particularly recommendable was the Spring lamb cavatelli. Portion sizes reasonable. The whole branizino for two was amazing and again perfect for two people. Indeed the size of the portions (ie not too large) facilitates the diner to peruse the menu and try multiple dishes. Best of all was the Sommelier Sergio, charming and delivered recommendations that were good value and very drinkable. Really good. Indeed, the food is brilliant but the service is better. Despite having just opened, this is the best dining experience in East Hampton
