Golden Lion Hotel

Really friendly welcome, clean and nice sized room. Food menu had a nice choice and the both the steak and the pie were really delicious. Nice location just outside of Rugby and Coventry so good choice for a weekend away. Would definitely come again.

Had a wonderful family meal in the restaurant last night. Two had the steak pie - it was a proper steak pie with tender chunks of steak in a shortcrust pastry case, one had the gnocchi, one had the cassoulet and I had the linguine, all were beautifully cooked and presented. We all had a starter and then a pudding. We've been eating there for over thirty years, and I was taking business clients there over forty years ago, and I'd go back again anytime.

We stayed overnight at the Golden Lion before attending a family birthday party in Rugby. The hotel is in a pretty, rural village, with footpaths across fields if you want to go for a walk. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. Reception was friendly and helpful. There was a pleasant seating area outside under a canopy (nice on a hot afternoon), and ample parking. The dinner menu was fairly limited and we had a bit of a wait, but it was Saturday night; breakfast was buffet style, which suited us. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

Was well looked after, room was comfortable and quiet. Food in the pub was great. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Set in thr village of easenhall close to transport links but felt very rural. Thanks for a good stay.

We returned to the Golden Lion today almost 10 years after we held our wedding reception there. We decided to sit outside under the canopy which was lovely and peacefull. The lady in the restaurant was really friendly. The food was delicious, the children's fish fingers were more like mini fish fillets, battered perfectly. The burgers were really tasty. Definitely recommend the Golden Lion if you want a quiet, relaxed place for lunch. The location is serene, there's plenty of parking at the top of the drive and the patio area is great for lunch. We won't leave it 10 years before we visit again!

What super service and superb food - called in with my daughter and partner who were visiting from Bristol (they are used to City life and fine food) this did not disappoint - fast friendly service, food was hot and tasty, beef pie to die for (full of beef and excellent pastry) - fish and chips with the most delicious home made tarter sauce.
