Meliá Durrës Albania

This is undoubtedly an excellent hotel, probably among the best in Albania. It is only a couple of years old. We did not expect it to be 90+% families, mostly with children under 6 during our visit at the end of June! We were told the hotel was also completely full for most of our stay. Check-in was very fast and the receptionist efficient and friendly. There was plenty of parking near the hotel, some of it shaded. We were upgraded to a top-floor room, which was of an excellent size and very well appointed. The HVAC was a dream in the 35+C weather and the bed extremely comfortable. The blackout curtains did their job. The large balcony overlooking the pool was a great addition. The welcome amenities in the room to recognise our Melia status were a lovely touch and much appreciated. The bathroom was also large and everything worked perfectly. Housekeeping was very, very slow – mostly arriving around 3-4pm. It feels more staff are needed for this and they could do a more thorough job cleaning the rooms during one’s stay. The upholstery across the hotel also needs cleaning. The WiFi was fast and worked throughout the hotel, including the beach. The public areas are impressive and well kept. I just wish they didn’t fill the place up with fake plastic plants – they look cheap and tacky. We had breakfast in the buffet restaurant every day – the selection is very extensive, the quality high and there is lots of staff looking after the area. Sadly the experience was beyond manic, with kids running everywhere and the place at capacity most of the time. Definitely not a peaceful way to start your morning. We also had dinner one night at the Italian restaurant – this was good and the staff extremely friendly and attentive. All the pool loungers would be claimed with towels by 9am, despite signs forbidding this. There was no enforcement. There was also meant to be an adults-only section of the pool, but there was also no enforcement of this, so all the main pools were full of screaming children. The beach was much quieter, but it would get quite windy and uncomfortable at times. If you are not coming with a family, I would definitely consider a Level room to escape at least some of the madness, but you will not get away from it in high season. Because of this I would not consider returning, or at least not during busy times!

Had a great stay with 2 of us. Staff were all very friendly, food was good and the hotel was big enough to not feel overcrowded.

Świetny hotel, w którym właściwie nie ma minusów. Ogromne pokoje, duże przestrzenie (nawet między leżakami na basenie), świetne jedzenie, bardzo duża plaża. Wokół dużo zieleni. Świetne miejsce na urlop z rodziną, albo bez niej;) Animacji i występów nie ocenie bo nie korzystaliśmy. Kids club duzy i fajny. Trzy największe atuty moim zdaniem to wielkośc i wyposazsnie pokoi, jedzenie i brak tłoku nad basenem

We recently stayed at Meliá Durres and cannot say enough good things about it. The building itself is stunning and the view as you walk through to the infinity pool is a “WOW” moment, but don’t stop there, keep walking through the gardens and down to the beach for more lovely views of the site. Every member of staff we encountered couldn’t do enough to help us, whether they were in reception, bars or restaurants. As holidays are for lie-ins and relaxing, the 1pm checkout means you don’t feel pressured to leave early on your last day. Overall, a great place to stay.

If you’re looking for a spot with great vibes, a proper sports atmosphere, and energy that pulls you in, this sports bar is the place to be. The real stars of the show..Marvin and Brikena the duo that turns an ordinary night into something memorable. The karaoke night was fire🔥 The service is quick friendly and totally on point. Noo waiting forever for drinks everything runs smooth. Marvin’s got that natural charm, knows what the crowd needs, and keeps the energy alive. And Brikena? Shes the queen of the bar. Calm, confident, and always in control she handles everything like a pro but keeps it all super chill and welcoming. We will come back bc of them🔥 🔥
