The Stones Hotel

Very beautiful place. Nice location to visit Old Sarum, Stonehenge or even only Salisbury. Staff are friendly. Beautiful views through the window. Bed is really comfy.

As a black person u wanna avoid this hotel never wrote a review before but this is the worse hotel. My room number was changed immediately when I got there. She was acting nice and all but u could notice the look and expression. So im like dont think to much about it. Let it go. I get in my room obviously it’s not what I requested. I let it slide cause I wanna sleep n continue my journey the following day. Constant noise of doors banging etc. bare I’m mind I wear hearing aids ! When I’m sleeping I don’t wear them so which shows it much better really loud. 10:30 someone opens my door and peed. What if I was naked or getting dress . The check out is at 12. So the is no reason for opening my door. !!!!

Ambiance was amazingly beautiful. The staff members were really friendly with us. Bedroom were clean and comfortable bed.

The staff were lovely! However we were placed in a room where the tv did not work, the window didn’t shut completely, and we had no hot water. The staff were amazing and the location was great if you have a car!

I regret that I didn't read all the comments before booking. One of our rooms was very hot and loud because it’s near the extraction fan from the restaurant. Another room where my parents stayed, the heating was on (during a May heat wave) and the tap/showering water was boiling hot with no cold running at all. The staff came to check, said there are no spare rooms to switch to because of the bank holiday weekend. They called the manager, promised to give me an answer, but then I saw her ran to her car and never showed again. I asked another staff member. They called the manager and said they will give me partial refund and discount for breakfast, but I will need to wait until 9am tomorrow for the manager to come. We waited until 11am and the manager never showed up. I left my number to ask them to call me. No returned call. I have asked agent to follow up with them. Again, 1st they said they will refund, but need to wait the manager to sign off. I just received message that this hotel refused to refund. They charged double their usual rate and they provided little to no service, NO MANAGEMENT and poor living conditions.

I stayed at the Stones hotel last week and had a great stay. The room was a good size, modern and had everything we needed. The best thing about the hotel was the staff, everyone I met was really lovely and couldn't do enough to help us, Jonny at the bar was particularly good. Breakfast was really tasty and the dinner menu had lots of choice. Free parking and EV chargers were a real plus point. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for my nieces wedding and God did we wish we didn't! The first room we were given was that bad, we had to change. The curtains we're hanging off the rail and the place was filthy. The next room wasn't that much better. Faulty plug sockets & light, faulty shower door, honestly this place is a shambles. To top it off the night before the wedding, we made a big mistake of dining here! They had 1 member of staff on duty, to run bar, reception and restaurant! We waited over an hour for our starters and an hour for our mains! Absolute shambles of a place. The wedding was ok but the food was dreadful and overdone & cold. The manageress gave us our money back on the food but wasn't bothered about anything else. Please stay elsewhere folks, because this place is dreadful and you will regret it!

A great location, perfect place to break the journey to and from Devon. Very helpful and friendly staff too. Only issue, we were charged twice for our stay and after a delay to our initial request to refund the extra, we were refunded the over charge. Thank you

Only issue, and a warning to check your payment cards, we were charged twice for our stay and after an initial response we sre now struggling to get any positive response to sort the matter out despite providing evidence showing the double charging.
