Cape Village Lodge

Hidden in the quiet suburb of Durbanville I was fortunate enough to stay at this beautifully kept guest lodge which felt like I walked into my own home from the moment I arrived. Cape Village Lodge is beautifully presented outside and inside. I was greeted by a beautiful garden with manicured lawns and welcomed by Renelda Brits who took care of me from the moment I arrived until I left. Her and her team are very friendly and even the Owner in his busy schedule took a moment to check if I was hapy with my stay. Traveling for work can become so taxing and especially when you exhausted after a hectic day, you just want to rest and have piece and quiet. This is exactly what i found at Cape Village Lodge and hardly heard or saw the other guests. Renelda took care of my dietary requirements and I felt like a king, one of my bests overnight stay experiences by far. I will surely be returning soon.

Lovely. quiet B&B in a safe neighbourhood i Durbanville. Close to all the wine estates in Durbanville Hills and only 30 min drive from downtown CT. Nice, clean rooms and beautiful new bathrooms. Safe area with short distance to everything. Friendly staff.

A fantastic location. A fabulous room. Super set up. But more importantly the customer experience has been “above and beyond” the call of duty. Nothing too much trouble and Michael went out of his way to assist us in our search for delivered food on our first night. Handed over his phone when we needed a South African number. Called the restaurant on our behalf and then went and collected it all. Can’t say enough. In fact he just returned to our room to check the food was okay and that we were happy. That is a well deserved, and earned, five stars. Here for another couple of days and am delighted we chose Cape Village Lodge.

An absolutely incredible place to stay. The room was perfect and the bathroom was incredible. The hidden lighting set the mood and the huge bathtub and shower were fantastic!

The welcome was very warm. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The service was very attentive. A good breakfast. We will be back. A beautiful garden with a multitude of colourful flowers, winding paths and fragrant shrubs.

Cape Village Lodge is a gem, nestled in a quiet Durbanville neighbourhood. The property offers lush gardens, which we enjoyed right outside our room on a private terrace (we stayed in the self-catering queen room). Our bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom provided quality toiletries and a spacious shower, and the kitchenette was a bonus especially when we brought meals in. Renelda, the property manager, was very welcoming upon our arrival and graciously arranged storage for our two sets of golf clubs. The property host Michael was equally welcoming and provided many excellent recommendations including local restaurants and the Oranjezicht Farmers Market in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront—which we visited twice! My husband and I stayed at the Lodge for eight nights and were there for a mixture of business and pleasure. We could comfortably work in the room’s sitting area and outside on our private patio with complimentary WiFi service. Durbanville offers a great selection of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops. Within minutes you can drive out to the beautiful countryside which offers a number of wineries and onsite restaurants. We found dining out especially enjoyable – not once did we have a bad meal. A number of golf courses are also available—the Durbanville golf club is a great course and within walking distance from the Lodge. We golfed twice at the championship De Zalze Golf Course which was a spectacular experience, and also enjoyed golfing and the views at the Paarl Golf Club. Seeing the beautiful countryside of Franschoek was a highlight, and dining at the Chefs Warehouse at Maison was an amazing culinary experience. If you enjoy wine, we recommend visiting Remhoogte Wine Estate for a memorable tasting with a spectacular view of the Stellenbosch mountainside. Was excited to see a zebra on the neighbouring reserve! If you’re looking to stay somewhere with close proximity to Cape Town with all the big city attractions, but equally to the countryside with the splendour of nature, Cape Village Lodge and all the comforts it provides is the ideal accommodation.
