Hotel Durbach Schwarzwald

Wegen eines Geschäftstermins in der Nähe hatte ich mich für dieses Hotel entschieden. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, aber nicht sehr modern. Am Abend gibt es nur Buffet, leider schon um 19.30 Uhr nicht mehr sehr attraktiv. Frühstück reichlich. Fürs Psrken werden 10 Euro berechnet.

Horrible hotel A former hospital that looks like a hospital and feels like a hospital! Old and poor. I really felt sick to stay there. The breakfast is nice but dinner is a big no!! The only good thing is the nice view! They didn’t answer the phone for a whole day and I needed to inform them about something.

Reservamos un fin de semana para celebrar nuestro aniversario de bodas, nos encontramos con un hotel donde no había casi nada de cena, ( dijeron que el cocinero se puso enfermo) la zona de Wellness no funcionaba, no se encendía la luz, estaba apagado etc… y cuando pedimos un gin tonic , nos dijeron que se le había acabado la Ginebra 🤪

A fuir !! Service très très lent, 35 min pour servir une bière au dîner (pas un chat dans l’hôtel) Le soir après 20h plus rien à manger (buffets vides, réservé à l’avance pour notre groupe de 14 personnes). Parking payant (10€ la nuit, il était encore gratuit au mois de janvier) Catastrophique ! 😡

I was in this hotel several times during the past decade and returned there for the first time after Covid. Unfortunately, nothing has improved since. In contrary, the food quality has declined significantly. I remembered that hotel for the excellend food a few years ago. Now the food is just disappointing. Some examples: During breakfast there are two coffee machines, one for fresh coffee, one for instant coffee. However, the machine for fresh coffee was simply not operating during one of my days. During lunch/dinner it looks like they cook frozen food. No sauce to the fish, very simple dishes. Cake in the afternoon was definetly premade and just defrozen instead of fresh. The cake was still cold on the top. This is something you expect in a cheap hostel, but not in a hotel of this class. Positive: The rooms are large and some of them have a nice view. Beds and furniture are good. Negative: food quality, bathroom was smelling, room needs renovation, service (reception closed at night, bar closes even when several people are still around), parking costs extra, which is surprising for a hotel in a remote location like this one

The customer service is terrible. The receptionists either claim to be new and not know simple things ( e.g whether extending a reservation is possible) or they are extremely unhelpful and distracted on their phone or computer and can hardly be bothered to look up at the customers. The car park used to be free and now costs 10 Euro per night without this ever being mentioned anywhere. You pay for a family studio but then get a room in the lower category - without any receptionist knowing anything about it. The salt grotto is not functional. The bathroom smells of urine but the room only gets cleaned from the 2nd night onwards and only if the flimsy door sign ( that is such poor quality that it falls off) is put on the door. All together the worst Dorint hotel I have stayed at ( and I have a Dorint club card) and definitely not worth 4 stars
