We were staying in Minehead and visited Dunster for the day to check out the stunning Dunster Castle, after a fantastic few hours we left via the back gates and found ourselves in this idyllic little street. Across the road we could see this pub, The Stags Head, "we'll have a quick one in there". So glad we did, it just felt right as soon as we walked in, not loud, just friendly. The Landlord (Nigel, I believe) was all smiles and made my wife and I feel very welcome. Drinks, crisps and scratchings, then we sat in the beer garden, it was spot on. Ironically, we bumped into the Landlord in a pub in Minehead a couple of nights later. A walk along the coastal path a couple of days later, we're back in Dunster, After a walk around the village, we have to have a last drink.... or two with our new found friend in The Stags Head before heading home the next day. If you are ever in Dunster, visit this place, It's a gem. And thank you Nigel for your hospitality. Take care, A.t.b Dave and Jan.
