We stayed at Craigduckie for two nights in early January. We wanted to stay somewhere close to home in Edinburgh (to avoid a long drive) but still offered the peacefulness of the countryside to relax after the festive period. That's exactly what we got at Craigduckie. We loved everything about the Shepherd's Huts - warm, cosy, comfortable, well equipped, and best of all surrounded by the countryside. The cake waiting for us on arrival was also pretty good (and didn't last long!). We opted for Ewe View to benefit from the bath hut which was a good decision - nothing quite like a hot bath outdoors staring out to fields and blue skies. We ordered the breakfast hamper which was packed with goodies including freshly baked bread and fresh eggs from the hens in the field next to the huts. This was delivered at a time in the morning we wanted by the lovely owner Katie. If you prefer to stay near the hut there's plenty of countryside for walks or ask for a tour of the farm - Katie and her son Logan are excellent tour guides. We'd recommend exploring the area including Pittencrieff park in Dunfermline, Culross, and St Ninians opencast mine walk which is quite an experience! My top tip is to watch the driving directions video sent via email before you arrive. Follow that and you'll find Craigduckie without get lost, and you really don't want to waste any time getting to this gem.
