Fairfield Inn & Suites Duluth Waterfront

We were quite pleased with our stay. The hotel was in an excellent location. We walked to the Aerial Lift Bridge and the light houses at the entrance of the bay. We also were close enough to walk the beautiful Canal Walk to numerous restaurants. (Keep in mind I'm 76 and my wife is 70!) The hotel staff were well trained and oriented to satisfying our every need. Our room was very comfortable. I would suggest upgrading to face the bay. We could look out and see the huge ships as they passed under the raised bridge and into the bay! Our first time in Duluth, but will be going back ... and definitely staying here.

Overall excellent visit. Parking can be a little tight, but still easy. We ended up getting a corner room with an excellent view of the harbor (i.e. not Lake Superior itself). If you are, even in the slightest bit, interested in great lakes shipping, this is an excellent place to stay. If timed properly, you can walk to the bridge and see massive ships go sailing by. Then walk a bit farther to all the shops and restaurants in town. The walk seems very safe the entire way. Inside the hotel, the lady at the front desk was actually friendly and enthusiastic in greeting us. Great coffee and tea options for our afternoon arrival. I would most definitely stay here again.

My stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Duluth, Minnesota, was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I opened the door to my room where I was greeted by a stunning view of the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. That night, I watched ships glide through the harbor and the city skyline come alive with lights. It was almost too beautiful to sleep, but the incredibly comfortable bed made it easy. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff were upbeat and friendly, making me feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was a delightful experience with a great selection of items, including quiche, waffles, and all your usual continental breakfast favorites. I will definitely be back soon!

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years and have always liked it …. This visit not so much…. looked like the vacuum cleaner had not been working when they used it. There was a big stain on the carpet in front of the television that I’m sure they could’ve gotten out if they tried, and then one of the chairs was broken….. when I used the restroom down by the kitchen area where they serve breakfast it was very dirty… so I thought maybe I just got the bad room…. but I always get a customer satisfaction survey….not this time…. One more thing when I was checking out the gal behind the counter was coughing and coughing. It would’ve been nice if she could’ve put a mask on……

Ellen and her staff; Brenna, Gina, Rachel, Brandon(the overnite clerk who does a great job of setting up Breakfast each morning) and Shanna do an amazing job; welcoming, helpful and efficient. The location is idea with close access to both the beach and Canal Park. Re-locating from across the country I spent a month at the hotel and while the move was not stress free it helped that each evening when I returned to the hotel I was comfortable and settled. Diana, Danielle and their colleagues in housekeeping did a great job too!!

I have stay at the waterfront Fairfield Inn Duluth MN many, many times. Always had a great stay. Breakfast is awesome. I recently contact manger Shanna about a rate on our next stay. She resolved everything quickly and 100 percent satisfaction! I will continue to stay there. Thanks Shanna

Excellent close up view of harbor and freighters passing under canal bridge. Five minute walk to canal and bridge. Nice though small hotel pool. Breakfast above average.

Amazing location near the beach, marina and Canal Park. Very nice, modern new hotel. Easy parking. Quick Check in. Small gift shop on site. Rooms were large and very comfortable. bed slept very well. Bathroom was spacious, and has a real shower.

I booked this hotel thinking it was in Canal Park due to the “waterfront” designation. While I was initially concerned about this, I am so happy we stayed here. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Rachael. She was so friendly and accomodating. We arrived at 1:15p on a Saturday and I asked if she would check to see if one of our two rooms happened to be available and both were. Without asking she managed to get them together and upgraded our room due to our Marriott status. The hotel was so clean. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfast was decent and the staff member worked hard to replace items as they were used. The hotel is so quiet. We sat downstairs in the lobby area where there is so much space and there are tables for congregating. As other reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is across the lift bridge. It was a short Uber ride to Canal Park and everything it has to offer. While it was really warm for a February day in Duluth, we decided against walking to Canal Park although you certainly could. It would be a 10-15 minute walk. We will definitely return to this property. Thanks for a great last minute stay!
