The Highlander Hotel Dullstroom

There are not enough words to describe our amazing experience at The Higlander, From Service delivery to the most delicious food! The staff was all so helpful, friendly and accommodating all the time. Simon, Lucas, Sipho, David YOU ARE TOPS! (Apologies if I maybe missed a name, I truly mean to include each and every individual) The service we received from you was beyond comparison to what we have ever experienced. Thank you for ALWAYS smiling and contributing to making our Honeymoon one to remember! The ladies at the Spa, are so so friendly and accommodating. Everyone was just full of smiles all the time. To the ladies in the kitchen, our highest compliments to you! All the dishes we had was just above and beyond amazing! Thank you for your hard work and dedication during our stay. Thank you to the team that kept our room neat and tidy every day, it was a pleasure to walk into our room every afternoon. The hotel itself is just SO BEAUTIFUL. To the owner of The Higlander; You have the best team on your side, and you have set amazing standards that are highly valued by your staff and much appreciated by your visitors. Thank you for making our stay with you UNFORGETABLE!

We had a beautiful suite near reception, the room was massive with a four poster bed, easy chairs and a lovely balcony. This was a wonderful experience and I’d recommend it. The onsite restaurant is one of the top restaurants in Dullstroom and well worth a visit. We have had two fantastic nights at the hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

We had a superb dinner set in such a beautiful restaurant. Very upmarket. Beautiful decor. Service was excellent and very attentive. I would highly recommend the restaurant if you are looking for something a bit special. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the pool area perfect for a spot of relaxation. My Spa experience was wonderful. The treatment rooms beautifully decorated, staff very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend the calabash full body massage. Overall I would rate The Highlander 5 star luxury.

An effortless check in and chat at reception was so refreshing after a long drive. Relieved to not have to travel on gravel roads as the hotel is so conveniently situated in the heart of the town. The Presidential Suite is new and Fabulous! Hallway leads to a spacious lounge with fireplace, double doors into another large lounge and bedroom area with huge sliding doors to patio with superb views of the garden and eastwards over rooftops into the countryside. Chapters Restaurant provides a culinary experience not to missed. Many improvements since my previous stay made this a memorable albeit short visit. Definitely be back..

Great location, just overpriced restaurant The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke. Rooms do all need a little TLC. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
