Schoolhouse Hotel

This is the third time I have used this hotel and it always impresses, great rooms, clean, comfortable and well presented. The Gastro bar does great food and the breakfast is fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel. The parking is good and makes staying easy and enjoyable. Central Dublin is in easy walking distance so it's ideal if you want to explore the city

We enjoyed our stay here in this quaint hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was able to answer all of our questions about the area. On the morning of our departure we were able to simply cross the street to catch the bus headed to the airport.

I would like to say that I picked the Schoolhouse Hotel via the internet as we were travelling around Ireland for 10 days. We preferred to be a little out of the city and I was pleasantly surprised with the locality and the fact that the area has a nice ambience with the canal and trees in the grounds and along the canal. There is a walkway alongside the canal and off the street. Once inside the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and cordial and their personal presentation was very professional. Our bedroom was spacious and decorated more like a family bedroom than some hotels we have stayed in. We had a comfortable stay and the king bed was perfect.There were complimentary movies, bathrobes and toiletries, free mineral water and ice, tea, coffee, cookies an in room trouser press and off street parking. We ate dinner which, early though it was and bar food, it was very enjoyable and tasty and well presented. The bar staff were very attentive and we even ran into a fellow Aussie working there from around our area and a very nice lad he was too. In fact the three lads on duty were happy, amiable and helpful. We especially loved the decor in the bar and around the adjacent rooms and we enjoyed sitting around the fireplace in the evening. We ventured into town but caught a taxi which really didn't cost that much and was quick and convenient. All in all, I would certainly put this on the top of our list of the hotels we stayed in, both in Scotland and Ireland.
