"We stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights. It is a birder paradise with many trails and beautiful gardens where many special species live. The food was well priced and delicious and the reataurant has a nice lounge area where you can chat to other travellers. The bungalow was lovely though do bring warm clothing! We did the quetzal tour at 5.30am. The guides worked very hard and got us some excellent sights and made sure we had souvenir photos"

"Upea hotelli sijaitsee ihanteellisesti keskellä San Gerardo de Dotan laaksossa ja aina hallitsevat pioneerien lepoajat, jotka "löydettiin" laakso 1950-luvulla. Valitsimme tämän hotellin läheisyydestä Los Quetzalesin kansallispuistoon. Viimeinkin olemme jääneet upeaan San Gerardo de Dotan laaksoon, joka majoittuu Quetzals vuodessa, koska Guatemalan asianajajat ovat läsnä - joista he syövät hedelmää. Hotellin alueen on oltava monien kolibrien puutarha, erilaisia vaellusreittejä, joista jotkut ovat erityisen kiinnostuneita ornitologit, sekä mirador, joka tarjoaa upean näkymän laaksossa. "Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I had high expectations when booking a stay at Hotel de Montaña Suria, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. I booked and PAID for a specific room, yet upon arrival, I was deceived and placed in a CPL accommodation instead—a tiny, uncomfortable, and completely inadequate space that was NOT what I had reserved. This was unprofessional, misleading, and borderline nasty. The room was cramped, uncomfortable, and far below the standard of what I had paid for. Instead of a peaceful stay, I endured a terrible night, unable to rest properly due to the discomfort and frustration of being cheated. Management showed zero accountability for this bait-and-switch tactic, which is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. If you value honesty, quality service, and getting what you pay for, stay far away from this place. I do NOT recommend this hotel and strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs. Deception and poor service should never be tolerated, especially when guests are paying for a specific experience. Absolutely disgraceful."

"After trying on our own for 4 days with no success, we booked a last minute quetzal tour with Jorge, and we had a great time. We had been trekking up and down trails on our own and Jorge made it so much easier for us. We drove to a couple spots and hiked only a short distance which was much appreciated. I knew that he would be able to locate the quetzal and we were able to see four males and one female. My goal was to see a male flying through the trees, and we did! He told us about his family’s role in conservation in the area. Highly recommend this tour. The lodge has an amazing hummingbird porch and a nice restaurant with a big fireplace. We felt very much at home and wished we had booked an overnight stay!"
