Ocean Boutique Hotel

My family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children aged 22 yrs, 21 yrs, 19 yrs and 17 yrs) had the most wonderful 9 day stay at The Ocean Boutique. From the amazing views, lovely spacious family rooms, to the delicious food - everything was perfect. However, what really makes this place is the people who work there; front of house staff, Evalyne and Yasinta were amazing and so helpful with the many questions I had before we even arrived! Breakfast and dinner was a pleasure due to the service of Kelvin, Solomon, Augustino, Peter, Viscard (sp?), Chef Ali and others who I didn't get names for (sorry!). Maids were also exceptional and cleaned the rooms twice a day. Such a relaxing place with the perfect blend of a pool and then stepping out onto the beautiful white sands of Dongwe beach. The hotel is guarded by Masai which makes it feel very safe. We did several trips, some organised through the hotel (Safari Blue and safari day trip to Mikumi) as well as others to Starfish Beach, Jozani monkey forest, Paje beach, The Rock Restaurant and Salaam cave (to feed the turtles). Great location for walks on the beach when the tide goes out, though wear beach shoes as there are lots of sea urchins! A truly magical experience - we hope to return soon!

Let me start by saying that the restaurant staff was amazing, kind, friendly and really helpfull. During the reservation we mentioned our early arrival during the night, wich was confirmed with the reservation but upon arrival the hotel let us wait several hours outisde amongst large amounts of musquito's. We stayed for several nights at the hotel but never really felt welcome. From the start we where confronted with rules that where strange. Our friends from nearby where not allowed in the hotel, not even to pick us up so we had to walk out of the gate. The entire ambiance in the hotel was very unwelcoming somehow we where glad to move to another hotel.

Siamo qua da qualche giorno e mi rendo conto che non vorrei essere da nessuna altra parte al mondo, se non qui. È difficile descrivere questa sensazione fatta di perfezione e naturalezza nel contempo. Elegante senza quei eccessi che ti pesano, l’Hotel gode di una posizione eccezionale e le nostre giornate sono ritmate dal dolce suono delle onde. Il personale è di una professionalità e di una naturale gentilezza decisamente ben oltre la media. La cucina è varia e raffinata. La pulizia impeccabile. E si disegna un tutto di Baudelairiana memoria : « Là tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté. Calme, luxe et volupté ». Con quel tocco di umanità in più, che ci regala con discrezione ed eleganza tutto il personale di questo Boutique Hotel decisamente sopra le righe.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cet hôtel. Tout y était parfait, la chambre, la vue, la plage, la tenue des lieux … Une mention spéciale à tout le personnel pour son professionnalisme et sa gentillesse. Merci à Peter, Aisha et tout l équipe du bar et restaurant pour leur accueil exceptionnel, leur bonne humeur journalière et leur sourire. Encore bravo au chef Alli pour sa cuisine de très grande qualité. Un grand merci pour cette semaine inoubliable.

Wir haben eine traumhafte Woche auf Sansibar verbracht und durften im neuen Ocean Boutique Hotel in Dongwe wohnen – eine kleine, aber feine Wohlfühloase, die wir von Herzen weiterempfehlen können. Die Zimmer sind hell, modern und sehr sauber – ein großes Dankeschön an das aufmerksame Housekeeping-Team! Die gesamte Anlage ist liebevoll gepflegt, der Poolbereich lädt zum Entspannen ein und das gesamte Ambiente strahlt Ruhe und Herzlichkeit aus. Was dieses Boutique Hotel jedoch besonders macht, sind die Menschen, die hier arbeiten: Das gesamte Team war zu jeder Zeit unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders danken möchten wir dem Restaurant- und Bar-Team – Viscard, Peter, Kelvin, Aisha, Milka und viele weitere – ihr habt unseren Aufenthalt mit eurer Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit besonders gemacht. Ein spezieller Dank geht an Viscard, der uns jeden Tag mit viel Geduld neue Wörter in Swahili beigebracht hat – Asante sana! 😊 Auch die Organisation von Ausflügen lief völlig unkompliziert über das Hotel. Ob Blue Lagoon direkt vor der Tür oder ein Trip zur Starfish Area – alles war perfekt geplant. Ein großer Pluspunkt: Die Bezahlung aller gebuchten Leistungen erfolgt bequem beim Check-out – sehr hilfreich, wenn man nicht ständig Bargeld mit sich führen möchte. Wir haben uns bewusst für Halbpension entschieden, um unseren Aufenthalt so entspannt wie möglich zu gestalten – und wurden nicht enttäuscht: Die Qualität des Essens war jederzeit hervorragend. Ally, der Chefkoch, und sein Küchenteam haben uns täglich mit einem fantastischen 4-Gänge-Menü am Abend und köstlichen Speisen zum Frühstück und Lunch verwöhnt – kulinarisch ein echtes Highlight! Ein großes Lob auch an Evalyne, die Managerin, und das gesamte Team: Ihr habt euch um jedes Anliegen gekümmert und unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Man spürt, mit wie viel Engagement und Liebe dieses Hotel geführt wird. Für uns war es eine rundum perfekte Woche – wir kommen gerne wieder! Herzlichen Dank & liebe Grüße, Stefanie & Mathias

We just finished a 4 night stay at Ocean Boutique and we were very happy with our choice. It is a small, beautiful hotel in front of a lovely stretch of beach. The rooms were large and clean with a balcony view of the sea. Our room included breakfast and a wonderful dinner each night. The food was excellent and different every night, with a fairly extensive set of choices for such a small place. (And good cocktails too). We were welcomed by the lovely manager, Yacinta, who was very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The waitstaff was also excellent… Peter and Aisha and others met our needs well, and with a smile. Me and my 4 friends felt very taken care of throughout our stay. We did a couple of excursions to the more busy parts of the islands (Nungwe, stone town), and were happy to come back to this beautiful, quiet oasis. The sea was lovely and the pool was very clean and nice too. We recommend this as a nice choice!
