Catalonia La Romana

Estuvimos alojados en el Royal que es sólo adultos, aunque comparte el predio con el hotel Catalonia Bayahibe que es familiar y bastante más ruidoso la disposición de las habitaciones te permite estar lo suficientemente separado para un muy buen descanso. Si bien las habitaciones se encuentran bastante distantes de la playa (unos 350 ms dependiendo el sector que te toque) hay un transporte que te lleva y trae permanentemente durante todo el día (especialmente si llueve cosa que ocurre bastante por lo menos este verano). Es un hotel mas pequeño que el familiar pero muy agradable, no utilizamos sus piscinas pero se veían bien lindas y limpias una de ellas con su bar. Estar alojado en el Royal te permite utilizar las instalaciones del Bayahibe especialmente los restaurantes. En el bufet por ejemplo, si bien se comparte la cocina hay un sector exclusivo para los pasajero del Royal que siempre tiene lugar. Las cenas hay que reservar mediante la página del hotel (hay que prestar atención hay QR que te remiten a la página del Royal y otros al Bayahibe entonces debes mirar las dos páginas para encontrar todos los restaurantes disponibles para la cena) El secreto es que se puede reservar hasta 3 días antes así que si quieres ir a alguno en particular, tres días antes bien temprano (sobre todo los del Bayahibe como el de carnes o el italiano) hay que llenar la reserva. Ten envían un correo electrónico con la reserva para confirmar. El servicio de internet es de los mejores que he experimentado en todos mis viajes, incluyendo en la playa. Obvio está sujeto a los vaivenes de la electricidad que a veces falla en la zona pero se restablece muy rápido. Estuvimos alojados en el sector denominado villa Duarte habitación planta baja, y la verdad que las habitaciones son un 10, desde el aire acondicionado bastante silencioso hasta el espacio. Algunas habitaciones tienen sus propias piscinas y en un sector estas se conectan con una de las dos piletas del hotel lo que lo hace una opción muy interesante y distinta a lo que había visto. El servicio es muy bueno, se esmeran mucho en atender a los pasajeros, quiero destacar a Geremias que nos llevaba en el carrito hasta la playa, a José, Johana, Dearling y Youkari en el desayuno del restaurante Thalassa; Mayelín que arreglaba el cuarto durante el día y Florandy que lo hacía por la tarde, Franchesco en el restaurante sea blue, los tragos de Victor en el bar de playa The beach Bar y el servicio Adán, Berenice y Angelo. El puesto de jugos naturales con la atención de Elise y Noemí es muy recomendable y una característica a destacar porque no se ve mucho de jugos naturales en otros lugares donde estuve. El bar del lobby y los chicos de recepción también merecen un agradecimiento. El punto flaco, si lo hay; son algunas comidas. Very disappointing stay at very hight price in a so called 5* hotel. 1) I chose to book La Romana (where we stayed for 16 nights) because I saw on its website that the hotel is "adults only" and, despite the ambiguity of the expression, I imagined that the absence of children would mean a calm and quiet hotel. As soon as I checked in, the television showed that PORTABLE loudspeakers (soundboxes) were forbidden in the hotel, a warning that was all over the walls and everywhere. I couldn't have been more wrong. Impolite guests were using these speakers at an unbelievable rate, some at an incredible height, without the hotel taking any action. I complained to reception three days in a row without anyone doing anything and the other guests continued to be harassed by this. Wouldn't it be the hotel's role to enforce the rules that are visible to everyone and that the hotel uses as advertising to attract a certain type of guest who likes silence? What is worse is that the hotel itself doesn't respect its own rules. The hotel's space is small and there is a central square that leads to the restaurants and a central swimming pool with the rooms around it. Every night at 8pm there are live shows that go on until 10.30pm. The noise is deafening, making dinner in the restaurants that open onto the courtyard a martyrdom. Only one of the hotel's four restaurants is set back and escapes this problem. On a Saturday, my wife couldn't even finish her dinner because she had a massive headache due to the noise. That day the show had started at 7.30pm. Before that, a loudspeaker deafened everyone in the restaurant. What a horrible thing to do. 2) On the first night at Tao Cat, the negative point was a waitress who asked for a review of the restaurant, typing 5 stars into my wife's mobile phone and then asking her to praise 5 names she had on a piece of paper. After that, this same approach happened at Toscana, Thalassa, Bloved, Rodeo, in short, at all the restaurants, in a slightly less aggressive way. This was repeated throughout our stay. This seemed absurd to us, which can only exist with some encouragement from the restaurant management or the hotel itself, which must use this procedure to favour or promote the staff who have the most praise on social media. This is an unmissable absurdity in a hotel of the level of La Romana, as it is too annoying for guests. We were horrified again. 3) In this hotel, as in the rest of the civilized world, there is no place reserved for smokers. It is impossible to find a place, even on the beach, where you don't have to breathe in the smoke of a cigarette or cigar. This includes the pool bar and snack bar and the beach bar and sushi bar, places where you can EAT! Even in the Tao Cat restaurant we had to change seats because someone was smoking an electronic cigarette without being bothered by the staff. Contrariamente a muchas opiniones que he leído por acá ame el Catalonia. Me encantó. Y fui a habitación común la llamada comfort. La pase de 10. La playa es la mejor y sin piedras. El mar un sueño. La comida del buffet es buena y bastante variada. La animación de lujo. Buenos shows nocturnos. El tributo a Michael Jackson es genial . La verdad que no entiendo las malas críticas. Es para volver y volver. Los crepes de la tarde con banana y dulce de leche los voy a extrañar. Amé el Catalonia.

Villaggio fantastico molto pulito mangiare buono.. animazione presente ma non invadente le camere sono davvero pulite e spaziose.. la spiaggia è molto bella .. il top è stata l’escursione a Sanna .. fatta con lance veloci abbiamo visitato tre spiagge meravigliose il mangiare molto molto buono… grazie a Gabriele il toscano di MARIPOSA TOURS e la bravissima fotografa Alessia abbiamo vissuto una bellissima escursione.. un ringraziamento anche a Paolo e Cinzia sempre attenti e gentili..

Reviews are misleading don’t understand how this hotel is rated so highly wouldn’t come back here again, have to book online dinner reservations which are always fully booked so ending up eating some thing every night, beaches are nice that’s about it, if you don’t speak spanish then get treated like an inconvenience honestly look elsewhere hotel shouldn’t be rated anywhere near what it is.

Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima vacanza, resort molto bello con una splendida spiaggia e tante palme con acqua cristallina. ci sono molti ristoranti e i ragazzi dello sport sono attivi e professionali. Anche gli spettacoli notturni sono di un livello alto. Tutte le nostre escursioni le abbiamo fatte con un tour operator italiano chiamato mari posa tours, coloro siamo stati all'isola di Saona, Safari Mariposa Adventure, isola di catalina. ci siamo trovati benissimo e Raccomandiamo a tutti di usare il loro tour operator per le escursioni da fare in Repubblica Dominicana.
