Villa Emma - l'Arte Dell'Accoglienza

Il B&B della signora Emma è una struttura molto bella ed un una posizione incantevole che domina tutta la valle. Consigliata per chi intende visitare San Marino e sub suoi dintorni. Dotata di un minimo per apprezzare anche una colazione da gustare con vista sulla valle.

We stayed for one night so we could visit the castle at San marino, which can be seen from the balcony where you can relax, take in the amazing views and eat a beautiful breakfast. Which included yogurt, dulces ( cakes) and an absolutely delicious homemade bread rolled in serrano ham and cheese. OMG! Belissimo.. On late arrival. Emma wasn't there. She did call me to say I missed check-in times. My fault.. I never read the notes on booking. Com. Emma arranged for us to meet at the villa later on. Which was fine. Allowed us time to pop into a nearby cafe for beverages. When she met us she told me off like my mother. I found her carachter very amusing. She is such a friendly lady that makes you feel welcoming. I was supposed to pay 10 euros late checkin fee. But she wouldn't accept it. The rooms were spacious and immaculate. The shared bathroom was lovely. Towels provided too. Overall, fantastico. I think we chose the BEST place to stay in San Marino. When I return, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Grazie, Emma x

One can say something positive about the owner - she is always true to herself when she can speak Italian to a guest and knows that the language will be understood... You can see what I mean by reading her answers to bad reviews here on ***********. In fact, she is exactly like that. There is no false friendliness, kindness or professionalism. Just the blunt and honest rudeness. If you can speak and understand Italian, please be careful if you really want to book at this property (although I wouldn't recommend it...). Even the slightest criticism and the owner Emma gets very rude and even shouts. Experienced by me and many other guests (as you can read in other reviews). In our case it was the fact that she gave us a very small time slot for arrival (6-7pm) which wasn't convenient for us because it didn't fit into our plans for the day. But that's not all - she called several times at 6:25pm where we are - although still perfectly on time. I ventured to mention that an hour for check-in might be a bit tight - as a result she pointed out several times that she has never experienced anything like this (this = me) before, we are in the wrong place and should leave. And she didn't stop shouting even though I tried several times to ask her to proceed with the check-in now. The room is beyond basic. Most youth hostels are better equipped. Only one bedside lamp (but a double bed), no curtains, outdated furniture, very small (10m2). The bathroom is in the hall, not very nice. The "room with patio" featured an exit to garage sheds (no patio) and a nearby sofa placed in front of the window of another guest's bathroom, including all the nice sounds that using the bathroom will bring. The very bright outside light could not be switched off and there were no curtains; it was so bright in the bedroom all night that it felt like the sun was shining. The bathroom was very dirty, the toilet seat was smeared with blood. There was no info with the wifi password and there was no phone reception in the room so our laptops, phones and tablets didn't work (the host was obviously too busy shouting and didn't give us the code...) The mattress was stained , there was no mattress protector to wash. Disgusting to lie on. Reading other reviews I cannot understand that this lady is still allowed to rent out rooms. She obviously doesn't enjoy having guests.
