Banyan by the Ganges

MY friend and I booked 4 nights at Banyan by the Ganges- and it was the best 4 nights of our entire 3 week trip through India. If you want to see the real India, unspoiled, wild animals, spiritual adventure with amazing staff and great food? This is your spot. We hiked, we fished, we explored temples, we met locals, we loved every second of our time there. The Ganges is so clean up there, it was amazing to dip in. Only one hour from Rishikesh (the road is a bit wild, but totally worth it), the water is jade green and surrounded by mountains. Accommodations are great- we woke up every morning to an amazing view and sounds of the river. The staff are second to none- I especially want to call out Nitin and Ashesh. Nitin was our guide and made sure we were having the most fun possible, while being just an amazing dude all around. He really made our time there amazing- leading us to a temple, stories by the fire pit, fishing with us. He was great- same as all the staff. Ashesh made sure we were always full, and kept the tea flowing. Food was amazing- I can't say enough good things about this place. If you want an actual adventure in India, go here. I will be back for sure.

What an outstanding place. In the middle of the mountains, with Ganges flowing by the side of it. Quiet and nice. Excellent hospitality. Extremely cordial staff members. I never believed such a place exist within the heavily commercialized Himalayas.

Well this was a suddenly planned trip and fortunately a riverside room was available.And words are few to describe the mind blowing experience we have had during our two nights stay at the resort. If we would have had the chance then could have stayed longer. The sound of the Ganges, the chirping birds, the always smiling and ready to help staffs and the sumptuous food- it was all perfect. But the most thrilling part of our stay was the white water rafting. Although am a non swimmer and my 10 year old was also accompanying us, both Aniket and the person who was with us on the raft (sorry I do not recollect his name) took care of everything and what an experience it was!! Next we were taken to a nearby waterfall by Nitin and we just had helluva good time!! In the evening we even went out for fishing which was fun. The resort dog Kibi is very friendly and a sweetheart. My daughter still misses her😞 If you are reading this and you are a nature lover then Banyan by the Ganges is a must visit. It’s a 20mins drive from Devprayag.We hope to be back soon 😊

I brought my eight year old son here in early April and we have not stopped reminiscing about it since we've been home. We live in California and frequently spend time in the wilderness but this was something special. The sound of the river is a beautiful and constant backdrop to every conversation, and there are endless things to do - rafting, fishing, strolling or hiking. The staff here is very attentive and generous, and many many extra accommodations for us - jet lagged, and not familiar (especially my son!) with Indian cuisine. I highly recommend making the effort to visit this spot, and letting it work its magic on you!!

This beautiful place.... is a full package of serenity and adventure and if you're looking for both then, This is the place to go! Its far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and it provides a picturesque view of the Ganges. The clear sky and the sound of the river Ganga adds so much tranquility to the place. The people are friendly and helpful and they have a cute GSD, Kiwi, my little one loved playing with her. Will definitely see you again "Banyan By The Ganges"

Rishikesh has many camps, but quality is poor. This one is 3 hours away but is of supreme quality. The place is tastefully done up. The location is breathtaking, food is brilliant and staff is very warm and attentive. We were a group 6 adults and 6 kids and stayed for two nights. While the place has lot of activities, one could just sit in winter sunshine and read a book all day. Our kids played sports, walked upto the Ganges and did a trek to the nearby village. It’s a place to rewind, relax and detox. All of us were sad while leaving the place. Looking forward to comeback
