Del Norte rest haven! This was a nice break in travel between Denver and Durango. It’s a convenient location along the main road to Dirango

Cool, updated motel. Cool amenities, especially liked the on grounds coffee shop that had a live dj playing good tunes.

Mellow Moon was cute and quaint, with a retro but modern feel to it. Lauren was very communicative and helpful. Loved the Canteen, with access to a water refill station and anything we might have forgotten. Just a note for those traveling and staying here, due to the nature of the property, there are times that you can hear your neighbors, so courtesy is absolutely key.

Loved our stay at Mellow Moon Lodge! This retro motel isn't what most roadside motels are like. The rooms have been refurbished and updated. The entire place had sort of a hipster mod feel. We stayed in a double Queen suite. Perfect amount of roominess for a family of 4 traveling with snow ski gear. Beds were comfy and clean. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Communication was top notch, always available by text to respond to a need. Service was great, always responsive when we needed something. Though not a full kitchen, we were still able to cook in our crockpot. Roomy kitchen countertop with small fridge, microwave, and some dishes/flatware. Even had a couple of board games and puzzles in our room. Del Norte is a great little town. Will definitely stay at this little roadside jewel again when we come to ski Wolf Creek.

The Mellow Moon Lodge isn't your average roadside motel. This fully renovated throwback motel has fresh and updated rooms, including beautiful decor and accommodations. We stayed in a Double Queen Suite which provided ample room to store all of our ski gear for a family of 4, while also providing comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, a small living space, and some kitchen space for storing/preparing food. The space was clean and well maintained, and the text communication at check-in and for daily service was truly impeccable. I am typically NOT a fan of motels, but this one will majorly exceed all your expectations. We will definitely stay here again on a future winter ski trip as Wolf Creek is only about a 40 minute drive. Electronic access to a canteen with some snacks/drinks (pay as you go); ice machine and filtered water fountain was nice to keep us hydrated! It was also a wonderful surprise to have plates/bowls/cups/silverware available for our use in the room. Though not a full kitchen, a crock pot I brought helped us use it as if it were, in addition to the mini fridge and microwave provided in room. One final unexpected touch, was a puzzle and a couple of board games in room that gave us some fun during down times.
