Good hotel in the main area of Decatur. The king size room was huge and a great desk for doing work. I had an A/C problem, and Joe (Maintenance) was there in a couple of minutes to fix it. One mile from the square, clean, and a great breakfast. Absolutely would stay there again.

First, let me say we have stayed here before and it was okay. This time it was absolutely horrible and we will never stay here again and won't recommend at all. We had a late check-in and we called to let them know we were running a bit later than expected. When we got there around 11:00 pm the night clerk must have been asleep. We rang the bell and she came out like we had woke her up. She was not friendly at all. The worst part is the next morning, there were several, very large roaches crawling across the floor and on the night stand. HOW GROSS is that!! We will never stay here again!! The hallways had a horrible smell like dirtiness. Maybe that's why there are roaches! Upon checkout, the clerk didn't ask about the stay, just said they'd email the receipt.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Special kudos to Housekeeping, the room was immaculate. The hotel itself was very well-maintained. The breakfast was clean, bright, and cheery. The breakfast choices were good, and very well-prepared. This was one of the better stays we’ve had anywhere.

Very nice staff. Hotel entrance is weird, it’s a little driveway right on the exit ramp from the highway. We passed right by it and had to loop back around. The room had an unusual smell and I question the air quality. My travel partners allergies flared up and I have a medical condition (CIRS) that is aggravated by molds and other biotoxins in the air. This place flared up my symptoms. We stayed and I slept with my air purifier nearby. There was some sort of crud on the wall and the corner under the the vanity could have been cleaner. I woke up with a little gecko in bed with me. A new but unexpected friend. The pool and jacuzzi were perfect temperatures. Open until 10 PM. The pool area was dark and cavernous. Fitness center also closed at 10 PM. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. Opted to hit the road so did not try it. Not a horrible place by any means but far from my favorite Hampton Inn.

We stayed two nights while our mother was in hospice care in Bowie. Following a half hour drive back at 2:00 am, we went up to our room only to discover that our room key did not work! I returned to the front desk for a new key card, but nobody was working. I knocked on the door marked Employees Only, called from my cell phone, tried the house phone, walked around the lower floor to find no one. By this time, my sister came downstairs with our things. I wrote a note to the desk clerk voicing our extreme dissatisfaction. Then we planned to camp out in the lobby. I went to the restroom, during which time the clerk returned and cursed my sister for leaving a note behind the counter! We entered the elevator as my sister told me about the incident. I was furious and was about to confront the rude employee but realized that it was 3am, and we needed to get a couple of hours sleep before returning to the hospice facility. I have never encountered such attitude from an employee who was neglecting her duties!

Didn't get to check in upon arrival because room was not cleaned, had to return almost an hour later & it still was not ready. Front desk clerk seemed too busy doing other "stuff" to even ask in we were HHonor members, I am. The 4th floor ice maker was inop & front desk knew of it and told us just to go to the 2nd or 3rd floor if we wanted ice. Free morning breakfast had minimal offerings; we were told they were unable to order supplies due to internet down.

Hotel looked the nicest out of choices but after arriving realized it was not. Rooms smelt horribly of pet urine. Elevator was in bad shape and on the morning we left the inspector was there apparently was not happy with egg temperature for continental breakfast and also overheard that elevator was not to code and needed to be shut down. The 11-7 front desk staffer (male) was very unsocial and rude. Pool area only provides 4 chairs. We’re also told that they were having a disposable plate shortage, strange. Just seemed like a hotel who could care less about their guests. Wont stay again.

This Hampton Inn, for me, was a savior in disguise in a land of a lot to offer, but not a lot of places to say. This hotel and its staff both treated me like I was the most welcome guest having visited. It’ll serve well. Live long and prosper

Enjoyed a clean and quiet overnight stay. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. as was the bathroom. The coffee station had fresh hot coffee throughout the day. The breakfast was enjoyable - the manager sat at my table for a bit for a quick chat. I will return.
