Dunkerleys Hotel

Booked an overnight stay to meet up with a friend. Staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was lovely. Nice pub atmosphere. Beautiful day for outdoor seating. Room was pleasant but bed was not that comfortable. Parking was a bit of a nuisance, but that was not the hotel’s fault. Overall a good stay.

Friendly welcome and great breakfast. Stairs getting trickier with the onset of old age!!. Parking is very straightforward in the nearby public carpark as long as its between 6pm and 8am. Location is very convenient for central Deal. Lovely barmaids

Excellent hotel. The staff are friendly and competent, the rooms large and well appointed. The breakfasts are very good and have high quality ingredients. I will certainly return. The bar is nfriendly and well stocked. The staff know how to make cocktails without the cloying sugar syrup all too mny others use.

We stayed in a suite overlooking the sea. It was great to see the sunrise in bed this morning. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast was fabulous and all freshly cooked. All of the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend staying here..

Just returned from Dunkerley’s Hotel after a 3 night stay with friends … Great location right on the seafront in Deal, Kent and well situated for access to the beach and for exploring the town centre. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our room was a good size and recently renovated with a large bed. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast cooked by Cheryl and the other ladies looked after us with a constant supply of tea and coffee - likewise the bar and reception staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Dunkerley’s is a 3 star hotel and provides excellent value for money when compared to other similarly rated accommodations within the area.

Whatever you do, skip the lobster. It was totally inedible and chewy. Twice made staff aware and was given £8.91 discount on the £26.95 lobster. Not sure how they came up with this but was not happy at all. So many other choices in Deal that they need to up their game.

I wasn't impressed with our room. My bedside cabinet was covered in dust. It obviously hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. We couldn't regulate the temperature of the shower. One minute it was scalding hot, the next freezing cold. The wardrobe door could not be fully opened because there was a bedside cabinet in the way! The staff were friendly enough and we enjoyed the breakfast, but I wouldn't be inclined to go back.

We booked a few rooms for a family get-together .Some of our party said their rooms were ok but ours and an other couple stayed in two rooms at a different part of hotel.l These rooms(16 and 17) were Dingy,dark ,and showers weren't good.The outlook out of the windows in these rooms are not nice . Also, the stairway to the room looked grubby. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant, and the breakfast in the morning was good and breakdast staff efficient. The location on the seafront is good.

I arrived to the hotel around 1230 and as i was early I stopped by the bar for a drink. I explained to a female bar member that we had booked a room and that we are early. She curtly responded by saying ‘ well the room won’t be ready yet ‘ which we were fully aware of and didn’t expect or ask if the room was ready. The barman Will , was very welcoming and professional . I met a group of 4 friends and barman Will arranged a table for us as we had decided to have lunch. Food was excellent. I had booked a twin sea view room 9, which had views across to the sea and window boxes in full bloom. The room was spacious., quiet , clean , Light and airy. Beds very comfortable. A few issues in the bathroom. Electric shower had poor pressure. The bathroom sink took ages to drain away. A few patches around the bedroom ceiling could have benefited from a lick of paint. Breakfast service top class as was the food. I pointed out the minor issues to the friendly receptionist on check out and she apologised
