Brand new hotel and still working on getting the kinks worked out. No self park and valet parking only, $40 / night plus a tip. Our first surprise is the $30 resort fee. Never saw this advertised when making the reservation. One significant issue is that each room has a fresh air supply (a very nice feature) however, the velocity of the air makes it very loud. So if you prefer quiet to sleep, this would be problematic. The room was modern, high tech, great view. The restaurant dinner was OK but not really good. I am a Marriott loyalist and so We used points for the stay. Breakfast included due to status. However, only two choices. No flexibility on how eggs were cooked, so had to pay $15 to get my eggs my way. I never ran a restaurant but I am thinking I would want to have the tables bussed after the guest leaves and not leave them dirty. First impression added a star to the review. Thomas, combination valet and bellman was simply excellent and what Marriott should strive for with customer service. The rest of the staff was very friendly, apologetic but unable to help. Won’t be staying again any time soon, will give them a year to improve their systems. If you get a great deal on the room, I would try them and see how your experience goes. To the owner and/or investors: invest in training the staff, train to say “my pleasure not, no problem.” Fix problems, fix systems, your staff is doing the best they can with what they have when they have it. Protect your investment, fix the HVAC noise .
