"Staying at Ji Xia Shan for four days and three nights in Datong was an absolute delight, a truly pleasant surprise! It was my first experience with the Ji Xia Shan brand, and I'm already looking forward to visiting Meili! We stayed in the Dieyin Courtyard room, which had a small private courtyard. Each tree in the room and throughout the hotel had a tag identifying its species – such a cute little detail. The room's snacks and fruits were refreshed daily, and the nightly sweet soups were never repeated. The first night was bird's nest soup, the second was corn soup, and the third was brown sugar peach gum. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with small portions allowing us to sample many dishes, which was great for avoiding waste. For our anniversary, the hotel specially decorated our room and even gifted us a delicious, freshly made cake. We felt a bit bad that we couldn't finish it all and caused some waste. The hotel's overall design creates a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility. It feels full of positive energy, with its water features and swaying tree shadows exuding vitality and spirit. The staff are all young, well-groomed, and professional ladies and gentlemen. They are warm, generous, and their service is natural and friendly, which was very endearing. Stepping out of the hotel, the view is expansive, directly facing the eastern city wall. Downstairs are Dongnanyi and the hotel's own Yungang Art Museum. During our trip, we caught the 'Pine Under the Mountain' exhibition and learned that the brand's founder is actually from Shanxi. Datong itself is a fantastic city. Besides its numerous ancient buildings that are a feast for the eyes, it has a rich, comfortable, and natural local atmosphere. 😌"

"This is a superb place with a great location. The staff are super friendly. The rooms are very well equipped but give a traditional Chinese atmosphere to them. It is right in front of the Temple with everything you need around. I will definitely return if I reach that area again and I recommend anyone going there to stay at this in."

"The bedroom with loft bed with slide fit our families well with my two kids in the loft bed. Reception and staff was very helpful and breakfast was great. Breakfast is about 5 minutex walk away which was ok for us. The room was tastefully designed and we love our stay, They uses disposable towel there which is not so environmentally friendly. A minor issue if you like fluffy towels or if sustainability a big consideration in your hotel selection. Regardless, it was a great stay for us. Location was also very convenient."

"The location of the hotel is good, easy access from main road to get big bags to it and also to go around the ancient city both during day and night time to enjoy all the landmarks. Missing signages make it a bit difficult to find the hotel at first. Also, while we had paid for a bigger rooms the room barely had walking space. It had no luggage storage space or cabinet. The washroom and room floor was not cleaned. Staff on the other hand are very friendly and willing to help with all the questions - on local travel, places to see, vegetarian food, etc. They find a way to help to the best. All in all was a good experience and would have been better with some adjustments."

"The hotel is located close to a lively area, making it very convenient to explore nearby shops and restaurants. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly picked us up at the railway station and helped us arrange a car rental to visit Xuankong Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, and the Yungang Grottoes. The breakfast was also delicious and a great way to start the day. Their hospitality and assistance made our trip much easier and more enjoyable."
