Our stay at Golden Bay Suites from May 10th to May 17th was generally pleasant, but unfortunately, it was marred by some uncomfortable incidents that affected our overall experience. Our biggest challenge was the lack of remote controls for the air conditioning units, which resulted in us not being able to use the air conditioning for the first three days of our stay. We arrived on Saturday evening around 8 PM, and there was no staff on the premises. Sunday did not bring any resolution either, and it was only on Monday afternoon that we were given a single remote control for the three air conditioning units in the apartment. This made our first few days quite uncomfortable, especially due to the weather conditions. We had to open the windows at night, which resulted in our 4-year-old child having 30 to 40 mosquito bites the next morning. Another concerning incident was the discovery of a wasp nest in the bathroom. It took two days from when we reported the issue for it to be removed. We had to request action twice, which was quite concerning for our safety and comfort. Finally, the freezer in our room was faulty and could not close properly, resulting in water leaking everywhere inside the fridge. We reported this issue to the reception, but it was not fixed during our stay. This also meant that the ice cream we bought melted, and we had to throw it away. It was only on the last day, 30 minutes before check-out time, that the janitor asked if he should fix it. Despite these issues, we were generally satisfied with our stay and appreciate the efforts of the staff. We had hoped for some form of compensation for the inconveniences we experienced, but unfortunately, our request was denied. We hope that our feedback will be taken into consideration to improve the experiences of future guests.
