The Darby

As a previous reviewer mentioned, The Darby is most definitely a hidden gem! From my very first step inside, I immediately forgot the stresses of the winter weather I was escaping from. The staff I interacted with were friendly, welcoming, & hospitable. I felt as if I was a valued guest from check-in to check-out. The decor is modern, & the cleanliness of the establishment was impressive. The bed was super comfortable, & the bathroom floor was decorated in eye-catching patterns. The leather strap that bolts the headboard to the wall was an amazingly cool touch! I am a bit of a picky eater, but I ordered The Darby (two smash burgers on a pretzel bun with bacon jam, tomato, pickles & truffle chips... Modified to exclude the cheese), & it was, honestly, the best burger(s) I've ever had! The bacon jam & truffle chips elevated it to another level, & my ice water with a slice of fresh lemon was the perfect way to finish it off. I would recommend The Darby experience to anyone, & I plan on visiting again in Spring!

Small clean hotel, nothing to go out of your way for

The staff is very friendly and took care of things we requested with a smile. The facility is old, but clean and maintained quite well. We enjoyed the Darby fire pit with friends. Located a short walk to Narrowsburg and shopping, food and drink and a cool little brewery!

A well-kept, home-like environment with a kind staff and beautiful surroundings. A ver short, scenic walk to downtown Narrowsburg.

Motel Vibes. Well Thought-Out. Some Challenges. The Darby is well located within close walking distance to the Delaware River and downtown Narrowsburg. You can tell that the property is well thought-out. Very eclectic and a cool vibe, however, it used to be a nursing home and that is exactly how the room, bathroom, and common areas feel. So, I would say it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a lush, comfortable hotel this wouldn't be it, however, if you're looking for a cool, clean motel vibe this is exactly it. We had challenges making and changing the reservation and there was no one at the desk when we needed to check out because there is essentially only one staff member in charge of everything and understandably they have to be in a lot of places at once. The light breakfast was available but we did not take advantage of it because it wasn't super fresh, however, it's a nice touch. The little bar they have is adorable!

An enjoyable stay. Had a late arrival, They made sure to let me know the door code to get in. My key was waiting for me at check-in, along with a little note to tell me what amenities were available. The hotel is quaint, rooms are small but efficient. Very effective window unit air conditioner, and you can make the room dark for sleep. Shower was odd, as it was tiny and not attached to the bathroom, light switch for the shower was in the closet. However it did come fully stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The bed was comfortable, with soft pillows. Toilet water pressure was a bit soft, so you may have to flush a few times to clear the bowl. There were many social spaces available, and the staff were friendly. Easy trail access, outdoor fire pits, and a morning breakfast nook. Overall, your room is good for what it is: a place to sleep and clean up, but this hotel seems designed to keep you in the social spaces and out exploring as much as possible. I enjoyed my stay.
