This is a lovely property and the restaurant serves some excellent food, but we we didn't receive what was booked, largely due to incompetence at check in, which soured the trip a little. Whilst checking in, the lady didn't seem to have any clue what package we had booked. So the complimentary drinks on arrival and other complimentary items never materialised. One of the deciding factors in selecting this property was the on site EV charger which was advertised as complimentary. This wasnt the case and I had to pre pay on an app to be able to charge. Already disappointed that I had to pay, I was then further frustrated when the charger developed a fault, so I couldn't charge my car even though I had paid! So I had to change my plans for the following day to ensure I could park somewhere where I could charge my car before travelling home. I booked a 'feature room' with a king sized bed, but the room was one of the first on the corridor with lots of passing traffic, a standard sized bed and standard sized room. Whilst it was a nice room, it didn't feel like what I had booked. Either I was given the wrong room, or the 'feature room' was underwhelming. We ate 3 meals during our stay. The first was Sunday lunch, which was disappointing. It was cold and we struggled to get a member of staffs attention to get more gravy as it was dry. Dinner was excellent and a lovely experience. Breakfast was also excellent, and one of the best I have had in a hotel. If they sort these issues with check in and align with what is booked & advertised, then this would be a really excellent hotel and restaurant that I would happily visit again.
