The Grove Cromer

We dropped by The Grove after a long walk looking for an early dinner. We hadn't booked and were a bit dishevelled after our walk but received a warm welcome and were seated in the cosy bar whilst we decided what to choose from the menu. We both had the steak crevette which was delicious and enjoyed in the restaurant. After pudding our host invited us to relax in the lounge in the evening sun which we did and enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing late afternoon in a gorgeous setting. We will certainly return.

The cottage was really nice had a lovely stay very well equipped with everything you would need lovely and clean tea coffee and milk provided for when you arrive the grounds were really nice parking space right outside at the back of cottage very close to amenities nice local beach and shops

Our second time staying at the Grove and everyone had a woinderful break. We tried Sundown for the first time and loved the mix of tapas and pizza and there was something to suit everyone. We staying in the main house this time and enjoyed our comfy room with the beautiful window shutters. Breakfasts were as great as we remembered them to be - kippers are such a treat that you don't find on the menu often these days! And the pool was a lot of fun for everyone with the added bonus of a couple of games of table football afterwards. Easy proximity to Cromer makes this such a perfect location. We are looking forward to coming back - hoping to try the Shepherd's Hut next time!

The Grove is an amazing mix of the traditional and the modern offering accommodation to satisfy different tastes whether it’s staying in the beautiful old house, in one of the cottages or converted barns, in the charming Bungalow or in one of the yurts. Set in extensive grounds and in a great location within walking distance of the beach, the cliffs, Cromer and Overstrand it could not be in a better location. I have greenhouse and vegetable garden envy! And the food is delicious - we stayed half board and the generous breakfast set us up for the day ahead. The food was obviously freshly cooked using local and seasonal ingredients. The dinner menu was varied but we felt that after three days of eating well that was enough. We are not sure how often the menu changes. The staff are very helpful and on the whole very pleasant. I appreciate that working in hospitality is hard work but it costs nothing to smile and my only comment would be that perhaps the staff could smile a bit more…especially some of the younger members of staff. But the gold star must go to the chef who kindly prepared a very simple dish of scrambled eggs for our elderly labrador who had gone off his food. It’s not every day that our lab gets breakfast prepared by a 2 rosette chef!

Beautiful house and grounds. Very friendly and efficient staff. We enjoyed our stay very much, the breakfast, the dinner and the pool were all very good! Lovely woodland walks to Overstrand and Cromer. Would definitely recommend and re-visit!

I enjoyed a two night stay at the Grove - originally was going to be one, but I am so glad I extended. The beautiful property is set in well maintained grounds, a short walk along the clifftop path and through the woods from Cromer. As others have mentioned, it is like entering someone's home reflecting the long family ownership of the property. Room 12 was a single en suite. The bed wasn't totally to my comfort and there was some slight noise from other rooms, but this isn't a party hotel so once all fell quiet it was peaceful enough. The room was a good size, with reliable hot water. The wifi worked well throughout the property. Finally, the breakfast. Absolutely standout on both days served by friendly and efficient staff. The Full English was almost too generous in its quantity, and faultless in its quality. Kippers and eggs on Sunday morning was just perfect too. I would stay again.
