The George Hotel

Nice stay Room was very nice and staff friendly and helpful. Food service was good, there was a few items not available from the menu but we were a the last end on service. Food we had was OK , traditional gastro food. I would stay here again.

Stayed overnight awful rooms were clean but shabby, no milk in rooms had to go to pub next door to find some. Booked evening meals due to being told hotel was full and needed to book in advance. Only one more couple in there otherwise empty. Had to move tables due to dirty tables & flues everywhere. menu looked ok not much to choose starters soup was cold and definitely not vegetable it was thick and dark brown tasted like it had been burnt so send it back. Pate didn’t come with Branson or piccalilli. Main meal we ordered fish, hunters chicken which was burnt & beef burger ok. When we complained the waiter/ barman said he liked the food. Only to find out next morning he was the chef🙈🙈🙈. Had to wait outside in the morning as they opened late due to chef still being in bed ? Cereals in open boxes with flies around them & cooked breakfast way below standards & yet again cold. Would AVOID at all costs. Couldn’t take photos as didn’t have our phones with us.

C'était un vendredi et le pub servait alors il y avait un peu de bruit avec la fenêtre ouverte. Mais cela ne nous a pas vraiment gêné. On est allé boire un coup également. L'hôtel n'est pas moderne, mais très confortable. Les chambres sont vraiment très bien. Pour se garer, il y a un parking payant en journée très proche et très pratique pour charger et décharger les affaires. Le personnel est très dynamique, sympathique,le petit déjeuner très copieux. Nous avons apprécié notre nuit !

Litt utdatert interiør, men hyggelig alikevel. Supre ansatte, godt øl og god frokost. Sengen var myk og behagelig. Ligger i en trivelig village.

Sadly we were woken up on 3 separate occasions due to a loud noise from the radiator which I have a videod. I will be seeing a full refund

Friendly staff, great location, very comfortable large bed. Very clean rooms . Food is superb. Stayed whilst on business in the town and would stay again. I will have no trouble in booking again an easy choice. Aparently new management and they seem to be doing a cracking job! Highly recommended
