Beautiful setting, spacious rooms & a fabulous breakfast. Incredibly friendly staff. Martin & Gloria made a real fuss of our boys making for a very enjoyable family stay. The nearby Crathorne Arms was a relaxed gastropub perfect for an alternative early family drink & dinner. 20mins from Northallerton station and 15mins from Middlesborough accessible by Uber was perfect for us heading up from London and playing at a regional tennis tournament in town. We will make this a regular annual trip.

Amazing hotel, fantastic location, beautiful food and staff that go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. Alice and Olivia make the start of your stay, via a great welcome to the hotel and the rest of the staff such as Byron, Guster the Maitre D and Sarah continue to ensure you live the dream. Even turning the bed down. closing the curtains on an evening before you retire. If you are a hotel and want to know how staff should act and treat clients book yourself in here. An absolute delight. Thank you everyone

Excels in hospitality. A friendly staff will make you feel right at home. I stayed for a week, wish it were longer. These folks will make you feel like you’re family. I casually asked one member of the staff (Martin) if there were any chocolate available. A short while later, he brought me a selection of chocolate bars from a store in town. I had not asked him to do so, but he saw it as an opportunity to go the extra mile. The entire staff is helpful like that. I have been traveling for 40 years and facilities like this are not forgotten.

Very convenient location easy to find. Very helpful professional staff. Good food from a varied menu to suit broad tastes and dietary requirements. Very clean well decorated and furnished whilst preserving the character of this heroically constructed residence. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Fantastic Hotel.
Excellent hotel in a beautiful setting.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Room was huge, immaculately clean and well furnished.
Bar meal was excellent (as was the manager on duty) and breakfast was all freshly cooked.
All round great value.

We had a very nice afternoon tea here, staff were knowledgable about the menu, polite, attentive and professional. very nice ambience, went to the snug bar area after for some refreshments, original features which is a nice touch. Not disappointed.

We organised our first event here and how wonderful the staff and venue are, staff make the stay so lovely, staff from the evening till breakfast so attentive, Nicola and the reception staff, Gloria at breakfast so happy all the time we will be back

5 nights here, to deal with a very stressful incident at the in-laws house, was made much easier by this wonderful hotel and its amazing staff. A lovely historic building in excellent condition. Luxury throughout, amazing food. Owls can be heard too.
