Château de Craon

Le potager est sans nul doute ce qu'il ne faut pas rater même en hiver Tout est indiqué. On regrettera juste de ne pas avoir trouvé La Chapelle moyenâgeuse et que celle à côté du château fusse fermée. Une belle étape sur notre parcours

Le château de CRAON est un lieu magnifique ou nous avons couché 1 nuit fin octobre. Le parc reposant propose différentes visites surprenantes aux détours des chemins, tel un lavoir, des écuries, le potager.... des animaux de la ferme et un étang avec son paon et ses oiseaux. Le château est meublé en style époque XVIIIe avec tout le confort et nous amène à faire un véritable saut en arrière dans le temps. Nous avons énormément apprécié la gentillesse des châtelains, leur bon accueil, ainsi que leur gout à bien recevoir leurs hôtes. Nous recommandons vivement de séjourner au château de CRAON.

Our room was quite spacious and bright. The bathroom had a rare old-fashioned sink with separate taps for cold and hot water, as it was in the old days and as the English still prefer to use (much to the dismay of all the tourists). Of course, it is very inconvenient to use two separate taps, but in this case we treated it as an exotic experience. The shower cubicle and shower faucet were in a rather poor condition. The house is grand, but both the house and the furniture are quite worn. Despite this, it all left a positive impression. Breakfast is served to everyone together at a large table and freshly made croissants are offered for breakfast. We are used to eating salty food in the morning and the host was kind enough to make us an omelette. It is not written anywhere that it is a hotel and not on any of the doors is it written that there is a reception. We made several rounds around the palace looking for the right door and then we started to try which door was open one after another. There is actually no reception, somewhere in the back room there is an office for that. On our trip to France, the two most important criteria for choosing hotels were that it should be a palace and that it should have an outdoor pool. Of course, the use of the pool always depends on the weather, but this time the pool was not used, not because of the weather, but because the pool cleaning system had stopped working and the water in the pool was green. I feel like we didn't get the room I booked.
