"We have just completed our 3 day stay here in the 2 rooms with shared bathroom on the top floor. Both rooms had superb views over the Castle or parkland and woods and both were of a good size with seating, hanging space, tea-making equipment and TV. Shared bathroom with shower over the bath. These 2 rooms are at the top of the house (2 flights of stairs), with no other rooms adjoining. Very good choice at breakfast, with home-cooked food and very friendly service. And the bonus of home-baked cake and coffee/tea in the late afternoon (the sitting room also has an honesty bar and a cupboard with a plethora of games. Parking is just outside the front door, space for 7-8 cars? We also made use of the electric car chargers at the Castle during our stay which was useful. The location's obviously great for the Castle and for other places (we visited Battle, Bodiam Castle, Scotney Castle and Bateman's, but it's near to quite a few other places). What we liked best: the spacious house, the views, its location, the peacefulness and the friendliness of Kiki and her staff."

"Served a lovely meal very efficiently. The food was delicious and there was a wide choice both on the main and drinks menu. They also have a wide choice of pizzas though we didn’t want that. My cod loin with asparagus was incredible and extremely tasty as was my daughter’s steak."

"We had a light lunch, service was very good and nice friendly welcome. BUT, we ordered a charcuterie board, which was disappointing, not a lot there, meats were dry and hard and served with toast!! A shame, we have both stayed and dined here before and has always been very good. Also, NO Pizzas!! a main item on their menu."
