Fountain Inn by Greene King Inns

Anther friendly stay at the fountain the food is good at the fountain so we tea there after work breakfast is excellent you’re need to go a long way to bet the breakfast the owners are great and the staff are nice and friendly

We went in for some food around Midday on 10th Feb 25. We were served by Nicki who made sure we had everything we needed, were served in a timely manner, & that we were happy. The food was wonderful and she was so lovely and welcoming. Overall a really positive experience!

Badly need of a refurb Room itself was clean, but the shower area was very bad. The grouting in the tiles was stained brown as was the silicone around the shower base. We would not shower in there. The communal areas are badly in need of refurbishment. We complained to the manager next morning about the shower and he told us that the hotel was due to shut for a refurbishment, but it had been delayed by Greene King who own it. He apologised and offered a full refund to his credit. It was not just our room, as my brother also had a room in which the shower was in the same state, after paying for an upgraded room. He also got a refund.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the host whom also offered to carry bags up to our room, greatly appreciated. The room and bathroom had a magnificent view over the harbour and we then realise this is a gem of a place to have a weekend break from it all. That evening we relaxed with a wonderful meal, excellent wine and local music. That night slept exceedingly well in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was beyond expectation and seriously spoilt for choice, although it was busy we did not have to wait too long for our feast. We really appreciated the service provided by the staff, always happy, attentive and above all … friendly. Thank you so much for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. We will no doubt return soon for another weekend away

This hotel is dirty, doesn’t feel like it’s been cleaned properly in a very long time. It is in urgent need of needing renovating. Only positive I can take out of this is that it’s in the town. It’s a shame it’s a let down because the pub is a lovely cosy pub, however the hotel is a massive let down and I would avoid at all costs!
