The kitchen is fitted with a fridge, kettle, toaster, combi microwave/oven, coffee machine and dishwasher.Accommodation in DetailThe property is self-contained, within an annexe of the main farmhouse. The entranceway comprises a private pathway, through a private garden and patio area, towards a large porch area with front door entrance. The porch offers plenty of room for storing walking boots and outdoor clothes. Entering through the front door, you will arrive in an open plan living room and kitchen area, with patio doors providing a view towards further gardens. Within the high quality fitted kitchen, there is a fridge, microwave/oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The kitchen also hosts a breakfast bar area, for sitting and enjoying a meal together.On exiting the living area, the hallway leads to a spacious double bedroom, with king size bed. Patio doors are also present within the bedroom, enabling access to the garden area and providing floor to ceiling views of the surrounding countryside.Access to the 1st floor bedroom is upstairs via a secret door from the cottage. The room is vast with floor to ceiling windows with stunning view of the fells.The upmarket bathrooms contain a shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.Access to the private garden provides a tranquil patioed area, with seating perfect for al fresco dining and stargazing.About the Location:It provides outstanding views of Carrock Fells and Blencathra.Caldbeck, Hesket Newmarket and Greystoke villages are a mere 5 miles away, with pubs providing food in both villages. This is a delightful, charming barn conversion. Both spacious, yet cosy. There is private parking at the front of the front of The Cottage for up to 3 cars.Ideal for couples or families. Dog friendly.The Cottage accommodates 4 people comfortably with two bedrooms and there is a double sofa bed in the living room should you need extra sleeping space. Dogs are considered part of the family and are very much welcome, but we must know their names :).The living room boasts a log burning fire, some logs will be provided and you can purchase some more from the village. The rear of the cottage looks out over the private, enclosed, terraced garden that is accessed by the back door. The dining area seats 6 and looks out over the rear garden. There is a well equipped kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom/toilet. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a double bed and a smaller bedroom with twin beds. There is a family bathroom with a shower and bath.We have indicated this cottage as not suitable for 0-2 years, this is due to there being no stair gates and there is no extra guard to the fire (other than its door). Your infants are welcome as long as you understand this risk. A travel cot can be provided if required and a high chair on request. Small person cutlery is provided in the kitchen.Hartley has an abundance of red squirrels, pheasants and small birds that are often found passing through the back garden of the cottage. Look out for the parrots!Kirkby Stephen is a traditional market town of historic buildings, cobbled yards, quaint corners and interesting shops. It is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line. There is a heritage/information centre, café's, pubs, eateries, bakery and a superb Indian restaurant!Attracts both walkers and cyclists alike. Situated on the Wainwright’s coast to coast path with walks from the cottage ranging from quiet riverside walks and walks along the railway lines to fells including Eden viaducts footpath, the Poetry trail, Howgills and Dales, Hartley fell and the Nine Standards, Smardalegill Viaduct and Great Asby Scar.For cyclists, Kirkby Stephen is on the W2W (Walney to Wear) coast to coast route and the Lakes and Dales Loop nearby.
