A lovely mid terrace stone cottage with wood burner in a quiet location. Very close to Bakewell town centre and ideally positioned for visiting the attractions of the Peak District National Park. There is off road parking for a small to medium sized family car to the front of the property, eg VW Golf. Also a beautiful small garden to sit in and enjoy a large glass of wine. We accept short breaks as well as 7 night breaks, but sorry, no pets and no smoking. Thimble Cottage is a beautifully well equipped cottage for two and has a wood-burner & squashy leather corner sofa in the sitting room for lovely cozy evenings in and comfortable king size bed. We have included many luxury touches including fluffy monogrammed robes & towels, Egyptian Cotton bedlinen, Denby crockey and underfloor heating in the bathroom and sitting room. We welcome well behaved pets; the rear courtyard garden is ideal for pets as it's totally enclosed and there are many fabulous walks from the doorstep. A new kitchen and bathroom were sympathetically installed in 2018 to include shower over the bath and granite topped kitchen. The cottage is conveniently located in the heart of one of the prettiest villages of the Peak District and within walking distance of the 3 village pubs, general stores and the cake shop Peak Feast is just around the corner which sells delicious take away coffees, teas and hot chocolate. This delightful Grade II listed cottage (part of an old Stocking Mill) nestling in the picturesque Peak District benefits from being only a few steps away from the village tearoom & 2 cracking pubs! Cycle on the Monsal Trail or walk in the stunning grounds at Chatsworth House, both are easily accessible and glorious views await. A visit to the nearby market town of Bakewell to sample the infamous Bakewell Pudding, is also a must! Our aim has been to make The Bobbin, an extremely comfortable 'home from home' !The cottage is split over three floors and comprises:Kitchen, Sitting Room with eating area, Double Bedroom, Twin Room and Family Bathroom on the top floor.There is a shared Courtyard to the rear, accessible from the kitchen with table and chairs and an outhouse for laundry and a freezer and the for bicycles.Regarding children playing outside, please be advised there is no gate to close off the Courtyard.Also, the staircase is steep and may not be suitable for very young children, ie toddlers and the elderly.Guest access:Guests can park in front of/near to the property and have access via the right hand side of the building and via the kitchen to the Courtyard at the rear of the cottage.The neighbourhood:The Bobbin is perfectly situated in the heart of the village & ideal for those with & without transport. Ashford in the Water is steeped in history & with the Monsal Trail on the doorstep, there is plenty to see & do. You can enjoy a day out visiting Derbyshire's jewel, Chatsworth or pop into Bakewell & then on to Haddon Hall. Through to the right is the modern shower room with sink and WC.Within the studio is the stylish living/double bedroom, which is the perfect hideout featuring a smart TV and plush furnishings to cosy up in. Well behaved pets are very welcome!Guests have access to the front field if you want to walk the dog/s! Please ensure the dogs are kept on a lead as there are horses either side of the field. The cottage is also double glazing.Downstairs, you enter from your own private drive to the hallway, which has coat hanging and boot storage. There is a large open plan kitchen/dining and sitting room with south-facing windows and bi-fold doors opening onto a large patio area. There is a modern, newly fitted kitchen with an AGA range, American fridge freezer and built in oven and microwave. The cottage provides cooking essentials, such as oil, condiments, sugar etc. There is a Tassimo Bosch coffee machine, as well as all the cooking equipment we think you'll need. The dining area will seat 6, and the living area has plenty of comfortable seating and exposed ceiling beams. The cottage is fully stocked with books and DVD's.On the ground floor are two double bedrooms with 2 wetrooms.Upstairs the third bedroom has exposed beams and a double bed. The en -suite is spacious, and there are beautiful views across to Little Longstone.The beds are modern, pocket sprung and comfortable and the linen is all Egyptian cotton.All three bathrooms are newly fitted, with lovely marble floor to ceiling tiles. There are heated towel rails in each, and plenty of hot-water is available on demand.Outside, the garden extends to ¼ of an acre, and is laid to grass, with a beech hedge, and with a path to the front door. A large garden table will easily accommodate 6 people, and there are six very comfortable sun loungers to relax on. The garden is surrounded by trees, including walnut and pear, with views across to both Chatsworth Estate and Sheldon Dale.Electric vehicle charging is available if arranged directly with the host. We can also arrange for groceries to be delivered to you for your stay, and there is a great local sourcing service which supplies a variety of local produce and local ales.
