We have just got back from a week's stay at this hotel. The hotel is in a prime position on the beachfront. When you walk into the hotel the reception area and the surrounding area is stunning. We arrived late at 10.30pm due to a delay with our Jet2 flight. I asked at reception if we could get something to eat and was told " no,but you might find a restaurant open outside" Of all the hotels that I have been fortunate to stay at this is the first one that there was nothing to eat when we arrived, not even a cold salad or sandwich that many other hotels offer if you arrive late...not a good start to our holiday. The standard sea view room was nice, clean, and a lovely view over the pool area to the sea. The hotel itself is lovely, pool areas, bar areas all spotlessly clean. However the food and choice of food is so poor for a hotel like this. As I said earlier,I have been fortunate to stay at good hotels,Iberostar,Riu, Barcelo. I travel very often,up to 5 times a year,so I can compare different hotels with first hand experience. I've noticed that some reviews praise the food and choice of food as very good, all I can say is go and stay at an Iberostar, and then compare. Most hotels have " show cooking" but this hotel had one waiter slicing up,on most nights,a joint of meat of some kind and a hot plate cooker with pieces of fish on. The choice of food was limited, there were empty trays on the buffet ovens at 7.30pm,( please see pictures)one poor girl trying to replenish the trays as best she could, the food was lukewarm, the majority of the time, myself and my partner had to reheat the food in the microwave. People hanging around, waiting for food. I enjoy cheese and biscuits after a meal, there was 2 choices of cheese on one night, the next night, there was one. But then again, people waiting around for crackers,no other choice, just crackers. Breakfast was a little better, choice was better, but that varied on different days. We all know about hanging around for your toast in those machines... there was one machine in the whole of the restaurant, which you had to put your bread through at least 3 times. The waiter's worked hard,I could see people complaining about the food to them, but they did their best . Management need to take a good look at themselves at this restaurant because for a hotel of this quality, the food is amazingly poor. There was an al a carte restaurant there, but unless you were on All Inclusive in a Superior room, you had to pay an extra 20 to 35 euro's each for the privilege, even half board customers. I think I can sum up what my experience at this hotel was like by this ........ because we arrived late, reception said we could have lunch on our last day because we had missed dinner..this we did,we had a bottle of water with our limited choice lunch....at the end of the lunch, the waiter came to me with a bill for a bottle of water...." Can you go to reception and pay 1 euro 70 for your water please" That says it all really about this
