Hotel Palia Don Pedro

We went for 9 nights, all inclusive. Booked fairly last minute, then read the reviews and feared the worst. We had a really good time. The food was great, different every meal. I hadn’t been all inclusive before. We were on 3 courses, 3 times a day! Tiny glasses and 2 x paper cups at a time at the bar was annoying. And they could have done with more staff as queuing at the bar was bad, or give bigger cups out! They are liberal with the house drinks. I had two Pernods and couldn’t walk!!The pool was lovely, Sun loungers always full. Nice quiet grounds, except for the parakeets flying over (lovely). Entertainment average, but the guy compere made a good effort. Our room (461) was a one bed apartment in good shape for a 3 star (they seem to be refurbing). Maids friendly. Bar and restaurant staff friendly. Can’t complain. Bedsheets changed, sweetie on pillow! Safe quite cheap at 15 euro for a week. Just residential area but bus to Los Christianos 1.5 euros. I don’t know what some people expect for 3 star. 9/10 and that’s only because of the small cups and bar queue.

This hotel should have been condemned years ago on health and safety issues. Cracked tiles and broken flooring everywhere. Concrete steps crumbling away(pictures available) unsafe to use as no lifts to the upper floor. Food very mediocre very little choose.No hand dryers working in the ladies toilets and no paper towels either having to use toilet paper to dry hands.All drinks in bar served in paper cups and not stable when walking down steps to the plastic seating. there does not seem to any smoking restrictions in rooms most unpleasant if non smoker. There was no indication that a life guard was on duty at the swimming pool and the sun beds you to check before using incase thee collapsed. Overall it reminded me of a Butlins holiday camp in the 1970s .The photographs in their brochure and online in no way a representation how it actually when you are there. We saw two persons one had a plate in their shoulder another had their arm in a sling from incidents at the hotel. Some people we spoke to where so disgusted when they arrived there husband were trying to make arrangement to move to another hotel.

Booked this hotel after reading the mostly terrible reviews thinking ‘it can’t be that bad’ and it really isn’t. We stayed here for 4 nights and for we got what we paid for probably a bit better than what we paid for. Fair enough it’s dated, the beds are a bit hard but again it isn’t 5* The pool is lovely, really good size and fairly cold which is nice to cool down, the loungers aren’t anything special but they do the job. The food is actually good which is surprising for all inclusive, plenty of variety every day lunch/dinner are different with a fresh meat section at dinner which had chicken, fish, pork & beef on different nights. The bar is good, the only down fall is the small paper cups but it’s all inclusive so it really doesn’t matter, just get another (2 cups per adult per order) the staff are really good. Adonai (not sure if I’ve spelt that right) is really good, chatty and has a laugh. The entertainment guy Alvin is brilliant, does his best to get everyone involved in the activities and is always smiling and happy, remembering everyone’s names! I have defo paid more for much worse places. Will defo come back next year for a quick cheap break. Please remember that this isn’t 5* luxury hotel and you likely haven’t paid for that either, all these other reviews I can only think they thought they were coming to 5* luxury resort.
