R2 Hotel Pajara Beach

Honestly this hotel is nice and this would have been a 4* review had I not been left with food poisoning on only day 3 of my time here. If this matter would have been dealt with correctly this would be a totally different review entirely. I have not eaten anywhere else but the buffet here and therefore know that I got food poisoning from the food here. I went to report the incident to reception the next evening when I finally felt well enough to get out of bed and they offered not even an apology and only confronted me with how I know it was from the buffet (on an all inclusive holiday where I have not eaten elsewhere). I went to report this so it could be handled correctly and measures taken to resolve it or to see if anyone else had gone to report being ill from the food. They seemed very defensive at reception that they did not know of anyone else to be ill and as stated above I did at least expect an apology and assurance measures would be taken to prevent this happening again. I still have another week here of the food and would’ve liked to be reassured that improvements have been made and they have worked out what went wrong. Reception staff were struggling to communicate with me and it made reporting this very difficult especially when the attitude seemed as though they didn’t believe me. Aside from the food rooms are a nice size, entertainment is good (when well enough to go), checking in was easy and quick where they assured me reception are on hand to help with anything I need - don’t really believe this now. Pools are nice and location is good, just a shame for this hotel that the food does let them down and it seems to be a common theme among other reviews. Before coming I saw the bad reviews and thought that I wouldn’t get caught out by this and that I am not overly fussy about food however I’d recommend staying away until reviews on food take a turn for the better as I wouldn’t want someone else to end up in the same situation as me. Although food poisoning is common in buffet style dining I’d have appreciated an apology and reassurance changes will be made.

Spent a week here with my wife which was our first break without the kids for over 20 years, I have to say that the reviews I was reading before the visit had me worried, but I found the hotel perfect. Plenty of food on offer, I am fussy but found something to eat every day, I will say that the one item that could be improved is keeping food warm, they did at times seem to struggle to serve the food hot. Drinks were not an issue, Jonathan at the pool bar was excellent and we found that they all tasted fine. It could have done with one more open bar at times in the main hotel. Water in room on arrival and found refilling bottles no problem. Main pool was around 21 which was too cold to use with the other outdoor heated pool being 26, beach clean and tidy. No issues getting a sun bed. Overall, I went with a 4/5 because of the food being slightly cold at times apart from this we had a great week at the hotel.

One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was much the same as other hotels , it was serviced every day. I would happily visit again if the food was more varied. The food is well labelled and plentiful but very bland , boring, repetitive and swimming in oil. Show cooking was always the same fish and pork chops. The restaurant hold a texmex night and Italian night amongst other special nights but actually the food was much the same as all the other nights. This hotel could be so much better with an imaginative group of chefs . Maybe the management needs to eat there and nowhere else for a week to sample it.

Where do I start … We visited this hotel to celebrate my 21st birthday. Upon arrival me and my partner were pleasantly surprised by the decor of the lobby/reception area and the water features. The greeting was nice and cheerful and check in was easy. We made our way to our room … this was hard to find due to the hotel being like a maze we finally made it to our room after searching for a while and found it was outdated and covered in small bugs. The beds were hard and only one pillow each so me and my partner slept in the middle of the bed ( two single beds pushed together) and had stacked the two pillows to share due to it being very uncomfortable. Our view from the room was appalling it looked over the delivery area and we heard banging and furniture moving throughout our entire stay. Breakfast was boring however was the best meal of the day, everything was cold and some food was undercooked. Lunch and dinner was disgusting , mouldy fruit and cold meat , we ate chips and chorizo for our entire stay. Now for the most shocking part of this… BIRDS !! They were flying inside the restaurant and landing on the food and eating it !! During lunch my partner had rested his hand on the table to find bird faeces on his hand, this put us off of the food all together. Nobody cared and just allowed this to continue. We were shocked !! The hotel guests were judgy and rude, honestly this has nothing to do with the hotel itself however this is a warning to English due to majority of guests being German or polish so staff put no effort into speaking English and don’t seem enthusiastic about it either. The drinks were appalling, cheap alcohol and cocktails were poured from a premixed machine and were weak and flavourless. I was appalled by the quality of the soft drinks and over all the atmosphere of the bars. The entertainment was good however again the drinks let this down. We were told it was a beach front hotel however it was easily a 15 minute walk outside of the hotel and not very accessible. The pools were freezing!! We used the pool once during our seven day stay this definitely affected the quality of our holiday. There was a small arcade area with games and pool tables… a game of pool was €2 a go we found this expensive considering this was an all inclusive resort. We will NOT be returning and we dont recommend this hotel.

Amazing pool area. The large pool isn't heated but it was warm enough to swim in. Plenty of sunbeds. Stayed in a suite which was nice and spacious but a bit dated and worn. The bed was very comfortable. The jacuzzi bath was old with grime around the edges, but I wouldn't have used it anyway. Great pressure from the shower. Plenty of food choices but anything that was not cooked whilst you wait was cold which was very annoying as it limits what you can eat. Bar area is too canteen style. It could do with a few plants and nicer seating. On the whole I enjoyed my stay, but the cold food would stop me making a return visit.

If relaxation and great food with beautiful views this is your place.Right overlooking the beautiful beach and coves.Its very clean and the staff work very hard to help your stay be comfortable and joyful.It has a large German and Dutch clients.Im English and felt very relaxed and safe as a solo female traveller.Im only mentioning large German client list so bring a phrase book would be a good idea to socialise more if that's what you want.I will definitely be going again miles if beautiful beaches on doorstep and beautiful well maintained ground with water features.Spanish people are here too of course.Nothing bad to say from me.
