Kn Hotel Matas Blancas - Solo Adultos

There are a couple of positives, unfortunately more negatives for us. I’ll start with the positives….. the welcome we received was outstanding from the lady on reception, throughout our stay she was, pleasant, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable helping with all the information needed. Others weren’t so forthcoming. Cleanliness was of a good standard and the housekeepers were all friendly. On to the negatives On requesting extra pillows as there was only one each in the room we were informed they had none. Although the room was clean it was in need of basic maintenance, and decoration, the doors, headboard etc were covered with a vinyl/paper covering which was peeling, cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. The restaurant: unfortunately I would call it a canteen with no atmosphere at all. No change dining in the day to evening, I felt overdressed so ended up wearing casual wear in the evenings. Others wore football shirts caps etc. I have no issues with this but it was not of a 4* standard. Which leads me to the basic repetitive food which was always cold resulting in queues for the microwave. Day and night. As a result we ate out on several occasions. There were only one or two friendly staff within that area. The same goes for the snack bar which was of minimal choice, burger or hotdogs and rarely kept topped up, hot and the area not being kept cleaned. There is a deposit that has to be put down for a plastic beaker for drinks. The three pools were absolutely freezing, it did state that one was heated but it was too cold also. Taking this into consideration we thought we would use the indoor pool. Much to our surprise when we went into the area we were informed that there was a charge of €15 per person for 2 hours use! I was totally shocked by this and have never come across this previously, €30 for a swim in a 4* hotel? The staff throughout were not all attentive and some bar staff would continue and finish their conversation between themselves knowing that you are waiting to be served. It is no located as near to the beach as I thought. It’s certainly not what we expected and will not be returning I had read lots of negative reviews prior to booking but there were also a few recent positives. So we decided that we would judge for ourselves. Overall we made the most of a disappointing situation.

We chose this hotel because it was adults only. We're on our second day and I am regretting booking this hotel. Day 1: there was no soap, had 4 hangers between us, only 1 set of towels, no kettle (10 euros to hire one). No iron. Towels are a grey shade of white. I asked for a twin room but beds pushed together. Asked for some sheets at reception. No sheets. We have to wait until the next day to get sheets on our bed. Given a scuzzy looking blanket instead. Dinner: food I’d cold, but it’s ok they have provided a microwave to heat it up!!! This morning, kettle doesn’t work. Going to see if we can be moved.

Average food, average drink middle of nowhere. Reception staff let as wait 5 days to inform as we can’t do late check out what was quite annoying .Pretty big room clean every day. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely not 4* hotel.Mostly older people.

I arrived around 4pmish and checked in with Reception. We was given hotel rules and our all inclusive bands. We stayed in the room on level 2 facing another block and the mini golf. The room look newly painted and fresh. We had 2 single beds push together. We only had one pillow each but it could be easily folded to make it better. The cleaners we friendly and couldn't be helpful enough. We went down to food and see the options available to us. Most dishes was cold or had warmed up from the hot plate but had been allowed to go cold first. this crested big problems and most holiday makers whilst i was there had experienced food poisoning. I think what they was doing was not heating hotplates first to right temps before start of service so turning them on when it was time to eat was causing the food issues. A microwave was available but i didnt pay this much money to use one. If this had been the uk i would have contacted the local food hygiene to do a visit. On my first night one of the chefs was wearing his coat whilst cooking. The waiter staff was very friendly and helpful though and would clean tables as quick as you finished. The bar was good the staff was friendly and not shy with mixing drinks. The little shop in resort stocked most things and wasn't badly priced for a hotel shop. With Jet 2 all inclusive we was given 2hr free go in the spa. it was nice but the pool had no jets on. in the steam room and sauna they was both hot and clean. We had to bring our towels from the room as they had run out.

Arrived home last weekend from a fabulous week away, could not fault the hotel at all from arriving in reception, greeted by very friendly staff. Our room was spotless, comfortable beds. We had ground floor poolside room with lovely terrace and sun loungers. Housekeeping were extremely friendly. In fact all the staff were very friendly. Drinks were pretty good, food was ok, plenty of choice. Yes the hotel is a little out the way, the resort is very quiet but the beach is beautiful. you can get a bus to Marro Jable which is more lively for less than 3€ (taxi 30€) only takes approximately 20 mins.

Decent clean room, great breakfast, staff were amazing and extremely helpfu.
