Hotel Riu Arecas - Adults Only

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at this hotel. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They had laid on a cold spread for us even though we arrived well after the restaurant closed. The facilities are excellent and include a beach club with an infinity pool in the grounds of the neighbouring Riu 5 star for the use of Arecas guests. The location is also great, near to Playa del Duque (beach) and La Caleta. Also good to have a kettle and small fridge (mini bar) in the room. The food does get a bit “samey” after 10 days but you can book a table at their Spanish restaurant at 48 hours notice for no extra cost. We’d definitely come back!

Warm welcome from reception on arrival with a complimentary drink,always a nice gesture. Reception staff excellent. Room at the front of the hotel facing the road, initially disappointed with the room but it was reasonably quiet. Room okay, wasn't aware that you could ask for further pillows etc and only learnt that on my return. That would have been useful to know. Room only has body wash, no extras provided like body lotion, shower cap etc. Towels not the best but changed as often as you like. No iron provided. Hairdryer on the wall in the bathroom, no dressing table area. No complimentary water but a Spar shop just across the road. Spotlessly clean hotel and well maintained. Resturant although large is run excellently by the resturant manager, always a welcome & a smile, very efficient at clearing tables etc. Good choice of food. Sun loungers not very comfortable but never had a problem with finding one. Praise needs to go to the staff at this hotel,excellent. Hotel is well situated with a nice easy walk both ways from the hotel. Spa isn't a prominent feature of the hotel, a good range of treatments available but lacks that ' beautiful spa' experience. Felt like it was there as an afterthought and more could be made of it. All in all a lovely place to stay for January sunshine, a few little tweaks is all that is needed

We went to this hotel for the Christmas and New Year. You will have a good time at this hotel believe me.

Stayed for a week as part of a cruise and stay as we did last year I reviewed this last year and made a mistake not to read my own review Let’s start with good things Staff are very good with special mention of Pilar wonderful lady who runs the restaurant with a smile and wit Food at lunch and dinner is very well cooked and presented Supermarket and Italian cafe opposite Room fine and comfortable However Tv has about 100 channels but only English is BBC world news Breakfast is not designed for British people no British sausage bacon hash browns etc Sun beds are low and uncomfortable and both they and side tables are pitted with dirt if you want a chair round the pool you have to get a note from reception Entertainment is at best mediocre but the Adeje Gran is only two bus stops away and they have fabulous entertainment I was pleased to see Johnny Circus again the funniest turn on the island Regarding cleanliness there was lots of glasses and bottles on the back staircase all week even after I reported it to management this is a safety exit All in all I won’t return

The staff and service was excellent as usual. A special mention to Nadia, Danielle and Gianna who went the extra mile every day!

Very clean hotel with excellent food for all tastes. Comfortable beds and good bathroom. Pool area good and lovely pools.
